It's HUMP day....YEAH!!! (love that commercial)

Walked out the front door this morning and it (DRUM ROLL) actually felt a bit cooler...a tad bit like fall. Just a tad bit though and I'm sure it won't feel that way for long today BUT at least it did for a short time. HEY....I'll take what I can get. I'm very easy to please when it comes to Mother Nature. (like I really have a choice)

I hope that everyone had a great LONG weekend and did something FUN or at least took the time and got in a few probably very needed horizontal pauses. (that's naps people..hehe) We had a good weekend. The Chazman had his best bud over to spend the night on Saturday. We watched the ALABAMA game..well...WE watched until halftime and then the hubbikins left to go to the local pub to finish watching it. That was alright though because I switched over and watched some of the AUBURN game but shhhh don't tell on me. I also got some work done on some of my projects.

Bella's clay parts got finished and baked. My ooaks look like lil aliens at this stage, or at least the Chazman thinks so..HA!!! I will start painting her this morning and hopefully get her wrapped up in her yarn underclothing. Fingers crossed that I can also work on her dress and hat this afternoon. Love this part of making new pieces.

Noooo....this is not nearly complete. Remember it's just a WIP at this point. I did get the wire armature made for the witch and am really happy with how this stacks up. BAHAHAHA....get it....stacked up...she is sitting on top of a stack of books. OK OK...ya'll know my quirky sense of humor and I know ya'll got it.

I  got some work done on the Tooth Faerie helpers too. Since I'm sewing them by hand, I have been taking them with me when I go to pick up the Chazman from school. (to get close to the front of the line I have to leave about 30-40 minutes early and I can't stand just sitting) I finished the little monkey on Friday and was able to get him stuffed and put together this weekend. I started on the dragon yesterday and hopefully will have him all sewed up by Friday. I was going to wait until I had all of the ones I wanted to make all sewn before I started painting but I think I might just go ahead and get these painted. I mean they are just sitting there...staring at me....and it's kinda creeping me OUT!!!

I hope that you have a wonderful HUMP day and will come back soon to visit under the old Southern ooak tree. I love YOUR visits and comments!!

Until next time..........Hugs,
Regi

Whoaaa...my muse is singing and singing and singing!!!!

WOW....I wish that ya'll could have see me yesterday. I know you would have laughed or giggled or possible even both. Make sure when you envision what I'm about to tell ya...that ya won't be drinking anything. Ya know...so it don't come snorting outa your nose or anything..hehe.  As soon as I got home from taking the Chazman to school, my muse started singing up a storm and man oh man did she ever have me running around in circles. I mean real circles peoples and running...really running!! I started the day out sewing and then would JUMP up with needle and fabric in hand and keep sewing while I would go and collect things I needed to use to make jewelry...pieces I wanted to make that just POPPED into my head.

My sewing projects...by hand. (my machine decides NOW to act up)
Cat and frog are all sewn up. Monkey is being worked on. Dragon still waiting his turn.
All will be painted when all sewn up!!

Yeppers....I sat my sewing down and started right on making jewelry pieces. Why you ask? Because my muse told me too of course. (and for the fact that she would NOT stop singing. Have you ever heard a faerie muse sing? They hit those really HIGH pitches) I worked on jewelry for a bit and then JUMPED up AGAIN and ran to the back to work on some cards to put the jewelry on.

I decided to use some of my doodles for these instead of the pretty lady I have been using. Once I got those printed off then up I would JUMP again and start back sewing.

I felt like a mad woman I tell ya....truly MAD!!! (not mad in a grrrrrr angry kinda way but mad as mad hatter) I couldn't seem to concentrate on any one thing for long periods of time. My muse just kept on singing and singing and singing and I just couldn't keep up!!!

I was so relieved when it was time to go pick up the Chazman from school. I mean "WHEW" I so needed to just sit and chill a bit. I know truly know what the saying "running around like a chicken with it's head cut off" means. Now you would think sitting in a car with it raining and patiently waiting that I could have gotten a bit of a rest but NOOOO, my muse whispered to get pen and paper out and start jotting down some notes for clay ideas. OMGOSH!! I wrote down 7 different ideas for a Halloween witch series. As soon as the Chazman and I got home I had to, of course, sit down and start sculpting. I started working on some clay spell books.

Now.....did ya picture me jumping up, running around, busy busy doing this and that and being dressed like the mad hatter? HEHE (hope it made ya smile) I'm going to be jumping and running around again today and I hope I will have the strength to show some more WIP photos come tomorrow.

Until next time...............Hugs,

Sew Sweet

Wednesday Teacher Appreciation Theme=Bake them cookies, brownies, ECT, any sweet treat.

I am really enjoying making all the goodies for Teacher Appreciation week. The Chazman is also enjoying all the oowww's and ahhhh's he is getting when he gives them to Mrs. R.  I think I make them just as much for him as I do for the teacher. I'm sure he won't be asking me to do this in a couple of more years....soooo....I'll just enjoy it while I can.

I love to bake and was going to make some of my yummy spiced oatmeal cookies for Mrs. R but ohhh NOOO, my muse had a completely different approach to Sweet tooth day. I had to agree with her that there would probably be an over abundance of cookies, brownies, ECT, any sweet treats brought in today. Yes, yes I'm sure those that know me and my muse have already figured out that there had to be a twist put on the theme for today and you are so right. Instead of my spiced oatmeal cookies... I whipped up a zero calorie, delicious, German chocolate, butter cream icing FELTED cupcake pincushion.

Doesn't that look just so so SOOOO delicious? HeHe  Of course, you can't eat it but now I have you wanting a cupcake, don't I?  My thoughts were that Mrs. R might like a SEW SWEET TREAT that she could take home and have a keepsake of the 2012 TA week. (TA for Teacher appreciation week..thought I might need to add that since after reading it...it didn't sound just right ^_^) It's also a pin cushion...I love to make unique and different pincushions. Remember the cute little Fabric covered box I made with a tut included. You do remember it...ri iiight? Well click above and go look then sillies!!

After I made my sweet treat I thought it needed something else....something to make it look even more like a delicious cupcake. Then it hit me....I needed a cupcake wrapper. I remembered when the Chazman was younger and we had to always remind him to take the paper OFF the cupcake BEFORE eating it...LOL!!   I just love being able to google things and it still amazes me at what you can find. Ohh yes my darlins, I found cupcake wrappers...pretty pretty cupcake wrappers. I found a new friend too, Tami, over at Food Art Party and she had the cutest ones by far. So many to choose from...it was a hard decision but as soon as I saw the butterfly one and she was offering it to use for free (for private use only...not for resale...have to always be courteous when we "borrow") I knew I had found MY wrapper. Thank you Tami!!!!

I printed off the template and the little tag and went to work. Ya'll know that I ADORE butterflies and that they are an important part of my life so when I can share them in any form with others...well...that's a good thing...a very good thing.  I used one of my butterfly prints that I have on vellum paper to add some dimension to the tag. I also added the pretty felted pink rosette and pink sprinkles (tiny pink pearls really)

The Chazman proudly carried Mrs. R's cupcake to school this morning. I can't wait for him to get home so I can hear just how much she loved it. I mean..who wouldn't love a zero calorie cupcake??

Until Next time................Hugs,
