Mardi Gras is coming soon!!

CHO CO me Boos.....I'm so excited that it's almost time for Mardi Gras!! Mardi Gras is officially February 17th but we all know that all the FUN and festivities start before that day. Our parades here in Gulf Shores actually begin this month...the first being on the 17th. I LOVE LOVE LOVE a parade and one where they throw beads and other items are THE best. If you're a local then here's the link to this years parade schedule.

I think that I'm going to put up my small table tree in the front room or maybe even in the family room if I can keep one tiny, mischievous cat away from it...hehe and decorate it for Mardi Gras. That means that I need to get to painting some glass ornies to put on the tree. I've been doodling some ideas and remember....these are just doodles...^_^

I will use greens, golds, purples and blues with these and of course glitter. Ya just have to have glitter to make it a true Mardi Gras bling bling. I'm thinking of doing a few ornies with just beads from past parades inside. Perhaps use some of the beads as garland for the tree too. Owww weeee.....I need to get started.

Until next time...........Do SOMETHING,
Regi

Destash...Destash...Destash

What does "Destash" mean? It means to Remove (yarn, fabric, equipment, ect) from one's own personal collection. I think it should add to the end of that definition.....to SHARE!! (or at least offer)

I told ya'll yesterday that I was going through some of my (whimper whimper) supplies and goodies to make room for some more. CRAZY...yes? Remove some to just bring in more...hehe

I went through some of my shells and section I have set up to make jewelry pieces and thought I would put together a few small necklace kits. They're in my Etsy shop, so if you're interested just POP on over. I even put directions on "How To" make them on the listing too. Very easy!!

Here's what they will look like once put together. Simple but what a great beach theme keepsake. If you order one and would like me to add one of my little paper gift boxes (in case it's a gift you will be giving instead of keeping) just let know and I will add it to your package. If there is an interest in these then I might put together a couple more.

Once I went through my tiny shells, I dug into the ones a bit bigger and came up with these nice destash groupings. (Also can be found in my Etsy shop....just sayin)

Oyster shell, conch shell, olive shell, auger shell, 3 scallop shells and three Banded Sea stars.

Oyster shell, cerith shell, auger shell, olive shell, three scallop shells and three Banded Sea stars.
Oyster shell, conch shell, olive shell, auger shell, three scallop shells and three banded Sea stars.

So much you could do with this nice grouping, eh? Start a shell collection, add to a shell collection, beach theme decorations, art supplies for that beach theme project and I'm sure you can think of many more uses. Since I can not get these into a small flat rate Priority box and have to bump it up to the medium then I will add a few more oyster shells (the projects with these are so many too) and even a small bag of beach sand. HEY, don't call the sand police on me. I don't go and scoop up baggies of sand. My sand comes from all the shells that I bring home. Before I wash them up, I make sure to give them a good shake and believe me, after 4 years of beach walkabouts and shell hunting I have accumulated a good bit of sand.

Today I think I might go through some of my fabric and see just what I can bare to part with...hehe  I'll let ya know if I can ummm I mean what I come up with.

Until next time...........Hugs,
Regi

Top O the Mornin Thursday to ya!!!

Is this year seeming to just be flying by? I can't believe that it's really March already...ok...ok...I CAN believe it, I just can't beeeelieve it...hehe. Ya know what I mean!!!

I took down the Mardi Gras decorations and put up the St. Patrick day ones. Remember...we love to decorate around here. OK.....OK......I LOVE TO decorate around here. (the Chazman does so enjoy looking at them though)I haven't done anything for the mantel as of yet because....once AGAIN.....I'm out of ink. I think that my muse must come in here and print all kinds of things off and doesn't tell me. I KNOW that I couldn't be using it that fast. ^_^  I'm sure I can come up with something that won't require any printing....HUMMMMM!!  Perhaps a short and sweet visit to Pinterest today will give some inspiration.

Here's the things we do have up....Welcome to Regi's B&B

The wreath, if you are a regular visitor here, ya already know was a past birthday gift but I so love redecorating it for the different holidays. It's amazing what great items you can find at the Dollar Tree. HEY...just sayin!!
Mr Meet and Greet Bear is proudly wearing his Leprechaun hat and holding his lucky four leaf clover.

Love our beads from Mardi Gras and they don't just get used for that Holiday either, as you can see.
Well....this isn't the B&B but it is my kitchen and I couldn't leave it out of the decorations. Could I?
Mr Bear, of course, is wearing his sweet little hat and sporting even more Mardi Gras St Patrick's day beads...hehe

Have YOU decorated for this month's holiday? I would love to know what you do if you have. Inspiration can come from so many places. Speaking of inspiration...I think it's time for that short and sweet *snorting...yeah ri iight* Pinterest visit.

Until next time..............Hugs,
Regi

Pssstt....I listed some new items in my Etsy shop. Need a unique gift.....go take a peek!!! (A link to it is on the side bar over there)

Beads Beads...everywhere...dang it!!!!

Hope your Tuesday morn has been a good one so far. Mine has been and hopefully will continue to be if I can keep Callie and Boo away from the sea stars. Oh yes, I took them out this morning and have them sitting on the railing outside to dry out. The sea stars that is....not the cats...hehe

I was so happy to see that they kept their pretty tan and brown color.

I know I said yesterday that I was going to work on a necklace and I did pull out everything needed to make it but I had this wild bug bite me (ya know it.....the sort and clean bug) when I opened up my bead drawer. WOW...had no clue it was so messy. Sat there scratching my head wondering what in the world happen to get it that way. I try to be neat and organized when I put things back. When did I just toss and throw things in? I soon found out that it wasn't me that did it but Callie. She came and sat beside the drawer and when she THOUGHT I wasn't looking she would raise up and start batting at everything. With her felt needle sharp claws that would definitely toss everything about. I guess she was looking for the hemp....she loves to play with it and all the other things were just in her way. Soooooo....I decided to clean out and straighten up. BOY...did that turn into a whole bloomin day project.

After sitting and sorting and filling up my little containers and boxes I finally decided enough was enough. These are the ones that I didn't sort. Perhaps another day project? No time soon, I can guarantee that.

Nice organized drawer. (put hemp in a box so that it won't be tempting Callie)

Now......I should have put my two mischievous creatures outside while I was doing this but I didn't but I should have...really really should have!!! Callie jumped up on the desk and knocked over one of my big boxes that I keep all of my natural stones and beads in and they went everywhere. I got them all picked up with some help.

Boo looking for any left over beads. Callie looking at Boo to "pounce" on....hehe...and she did
and it continued aside.

Until next time.............Hugs,
Regi

Beads, Beads and more Beads ^_^

Good Monday Morning!!! Only 9 more days til Christmas...YIKES!! Are YOU ready yet? All that shopping done? Nope? Me either but guess what, it's a coming regardless. So HOHOHO!!!! (said in a cheery way, just in case you were a wondering...hehehe)

I spent this weekend finishing up the teachers gifts and even made one for the principal. She has really made this year a most excellent one so far. She will be getting a pretty pair of earrings and the teachers will be getting some of my prettier twisted bracelets and of course each will be wrapped in one of my pretty paper boxes.

The little bead is an abraded quartz
better known as Dragons egg.

Once I finished these gifts I just couldn't stop making bracelets. I mean.....I already had all my beads out and they were just laying there...staring at me....so what was I suppose to do....ignore them? I think not...hehehe

Some of my twisted bracelets...ya'll know I LOVE to twist. ^_^   The first one has the last of my pretty plastic beads that have etchings on them. I don't normally like plastic but I fell in love with these. The next grouping is just some twisted ones with one having that neat Celtic button. The last one I did using some polished moonstones and tiny aquamarine stones on the tree of life charm. This looks really pretty dressed up or with jeans and tshirt. I make these kind of bracelets where they can fit just about anyones wrist. I leave the hanging ropes long in case they are needed and if not then you can clip them to the size you need. Just remember to knot them on the end so that the closing twist doesn't come off.

Jade beads, jasper beads, bone beads, Tibetan charm holder with Tree of life charm

 Just keep swimming..hehe
Tibetan fish charm with glass purple/green beads.

Rose quartz beads, green glass beads and turquoise turtle bead.
Tibetan charm holder with Koi fish charm, vintage pearls, dye pearls in mint, pink, coral and white.
Back of the one above so that you could see all the colors of pearls.
Violet Jade round faceted beads, tiny tan Swarovski crystals with a glass focal bead.

Rose quartz beads, agate green/pink beads, Tibetan rose bead.
Back of one above so you can see the different sized quartz beads.
glass turquoise hued beads with actual turquoise turtle beads.
Glass tiger look beads, wooden black beads, Tibetan charm holder with tiny silver wire wrapped glass heart.
Pink faux pearl beads, Tibetan rose beads, Tibetan charm holder with faux diamond spacers, two tiny pink Swarovski crystals and one large pink Swarovski crystal.

I loved making all of these and made them for no one in particular The beads were just calling to me and I had to do something with them...hehe!!  If you see one you would like to purchase, just let me know and I will list it on Etsy just for you. These would make great Christmas gifts or a gift just to say "I love you or I'm thinking of you".  If you do buy one it will come gift wrapped in one of my pretty little paper boxes.

Until next time...........Hugs,
Regi

Beautiful Sunday!!

What a glorious day we are having here in our little coastal town. The past few weeks have been OH SO STICKY and HOT, HOT, HOT but today it feels like Fall is in the air. I mean...really...it does. It's 12:25 in the afternoon and it's only 79 degrees and it actually feels like 79.  I was able to open up the back door and let the cool fresh breeze in this morning....so nice. That is until Ms Peaches started bellowing and I do mean BELLOWING to go outside. She actually sounds like she is yelling "OUT"....so I quickly closed the door!!!

This wonderful weather is making the Hubbikins surf.....surf the TV channels that is..HA!! The Chazman is being an Overlord and making his minions dance all around. Don't panic...my sweetie petie isn't becoming some wacky monster..he is playing a game. At least I think he is playing the game. He is in there giggling about the minions singing and dancing....some mean Overlord huh? Meanwhile, I am sitting in the back doing a load of laundry (fun fun) and making some clay molds (really FUN FUN..for reals) for some charms I want to make.

This is just a few of them already baked. I have a few more baking as we chat along with some of the charms I already pressed into these molds. I want to use them with some of my mermaid/Bohemian/Gypsy pieces I have in mind. A few more keepsake necklaces and some bracelets. I hope they work the way I'm seeing them in my head.

Here's some of the beads I have picked out to use. Not all of them together..well..perhaps not but I really love all of these. I didn't take the main ones out of the bags so that they would be a mystery until I get the pieces complete.

So...what have you been doing this glorious day? I'm so happy that you stopped by to visit with me...I love when you do.

Until next time........Hugs,
Regi
