Owww...I found some belt buckles!!

Good Happy Friday Eve morning!!! Well...saying it that way makes the weekend feel even closer, ri iight??

It's suppose to be a pretty weekend too and I hope that means there will be several good treasure hunts to pursue. Treasure hunt=yard sales..hehe  I mean I am going through my old stuff (destashing) which means there will be room for new old stuff.

I said earlier that I was going to go through all my fabric and well........that kinda got put off for a bit. I have TONS of fabric to go through. I did whilst digging in my art closet find a bag full of belt buckles. Nothing wrong with them either. I just needed the leather belts they were attached to. Remember those wrist cuffs I made a few years ago? I even did a How To for ya'll. You don't remember? Well.....click here and refresh those memories.

I sorted through and grouped liked ones together and have them in my Etsy shop as destash items. Of course, they could be used as a belt buckle again (just add belt..hehe) or could be use for some art projects or some could even be placed in shadow boxes and hung in a man cave. Ohhhh, you'll see why I said that when you see a few of them. ^_^

Now.....see why I suggested a man cave? What better place for a shadow box containing a Jack Daniel's Old Time Tennessee Whiskey fine pewter buckle? They are authentic and are stamped on the back as you can see in the photo above.

Varoooommmm!!! Here's some for that avid race fan. These would really look good in a shadow box hanging in that man cave that has a NASCAR theme going on. Authentic too and stamped on the back of each.

Now here's a grouping for that Western theme you might need. Like I said...these could be used for unique art projects too.

Here's some interesting ones. Now I didn't make these but I LOVE that someone did. One is made from nuts (bolts) and the other from nails. Very unique!!

There are a few other ones in my shop I'm offering and if not for anything else but to use them as a base to add upon.....well.....your imagination can "see" what they could be. ^_^

Until next time...........Hugs,
Regi

Whodoo not voodoo...hehe

WOW......finally....I finished all my gifts for the Angel program. I hope that my small part helps make a child smile when they open a gift on Christmas morning. I have to admit that it was tough making them this year as the Chazman asked what I was making them for exactly!! I know that he had to have noticed that I broke out in a sweat when he asked me that question. What was I to do? I didn't want to lie to my baby so I just didn't answer with the complete explanation. I just told him that our sweet friend Ms Sue needed my help with making gifts for some children she knew. That wasn't a lie...it was actually the truth just not the whole truth. He stood there for a minute and then smiled and walked off. He later said that he was sad......I froze with fear.....fear that he was about to tell me the one thing I do not want to ever hear....that he didn't believe. Nope...that wasn't what he said at all. What he did say was that he was sad that some kids didn't have the magic inside them anymore and didn't believe in the magical realm...like Santa. I asked  (with a big gulp) if he still had the magic inside and he said "Well DUHHH MOM...of course I do". I'm glad that he does and I'm going to hope that he is like me (I NEVER told my parents that I didn't believe) and we can have the magic every year.

Now that I'm not frantically working on those gifts I can relax and work on the Chazman's gifts. Yes, I am making him some little gifts and I am going to be working my butt off Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to get them all done because Thursday starts his Christmas break. He doesn't know that I'm making them. He asked me about a month ago if I thought I could make some of the little VooDoo string dolls that are popular. I told him that I probably could and would try as soon as we got through Christmas. He looked kinda sad faced but said alright. BOY...is he ever going to be surprised!!! I made one today and WOW it is time consuming but boy oh boy was it ever fun. I think I have a feline soul in me somewhere because I swanee I was purring like a kitten playing with that string!! ^_^   I already have several designs my muse has thrown at me to make that she knows the Chazman really wants. (yeah...she says that but I know she was just ease dropping when he and I were talking about them..hehe)  There's going to be a witch doctor....a one eyed monster, a googlie eyed monster, a vampire, a mohawk wearing warrior, and hopefully a cousin to Beetlejuice. Of course I won't call my little creatures VooDoo...they will be WhoDoo, as in Who Doo you be? ^_^  Here's the first little string guy.....be warned...he's NEKKID!! Hmmmmm...seems my characters like to run around the studio nekkid a good bit. Oh well.....keeps my muse hidden!!

Not to bad for my first one ever. I even gave him blue eyes like the Chazman. HA!! I'm hoping that I get them all finished before Thursday and get their own little boxes houses made and under the tree. I can't wait to see his little eyes light up when he opens his gifts Christmas eve from us.

I want to let all of you know that I am offering a 25% discount on purchases made in my Etsy shop...good through the 22nd. Just use code 2SANTABAG at check out to get it. Feel free to share the code with family, friends, neighbors, strangers, everyone..HAHA!!

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi

Oh yes...I'm working on two more Santa pieces too. I need to get my rump in gear dears!!!

Free Shipping!!

I did it yet AGAIN!!! Let time fly on past!! I didn't realize that my last post was last Wednesday...YIKES!! I do so appreciate YOU stopping by to visit with me and I sure want to be here when you do..so please forgive!!

Not much going on under the old Southern Ooaks trees since Wednesday except drawing out twenty-five stinky feet, twenty-five blue, blue eyes and twenty-five candy container toppers. Then having to cut out twenty-five pairs of stinky feet, twenty-five pairs of blue, blue eyes and twenty-five candy container toppers. Did I happen to mention there were TWENTY-FIVE of each to deal with. WHEW!!! The Chazman has a big class this year. I'm soooo not going to complain though as I have the feeling this will be the last year to make them for his classmates. That doesn't mean I can't make them to give out at the door next year..hehe!!

This is what twenty-five of each looks like...that's a whole lot of drawing, water coloring, outlining and then cutting out. Again...WHEW!!!!  I mentioned in my last post that the Chazman had said that some classmates didn't want to tear their mummies so I made a topper for them this year. One side (tab) will be glued to the holder and then I will put a small string tie on the other side so that they can just untie it to get to their "TREATS".

Figured since I made them where they can keep them that they needed a way to remember just where their TREAT came from. Mummies live in sarcophagus or perhaps in dark caves so I thought the bats appropriate. Now...all I have to do is get them all wrapped up...HAHA...get it....mummies...WRAPPED up!! I just kill myself sometimes with my quirky sense of humor. ^_^

Since this month is the month of my birth. (not celebrating it anymore...to ancient) I am having FREE SHIPPING in my Etsy shop starting today until October 31st. You want to go look....you want to order something...you just have to have something..oh yes YOU DO. (is my subliminal message working?) When placing that order (you just have to have) simply enter FREEFLY for free shipping.

Until next time..............HUGS,
Regi AND the twenty-five stinky feet, twenty-five blue, blue eyes and the twenty-five candy container toppers.

It's the Halloween Gang!!

It's so hard to believe that it is August already. Where in the world did summer go? Ohhh wait...it's still here. Well, at least the triple digit temps are. A week and a half before school starts back. What happened to the time when the weather was cooler then. Ohhhh wait....I live in the South. It's hot until Christmas...LOL!!

I wanted to let everyone know that I have added some of the Halloween gang to the Etsy shoppe. The $10 off this week applies to them too. (After the 7th all prices are as posted) For those that are new to visiting the Southern Ooaks I have linked each photo with the original post. Some have a few WIP posts but I'm sure you can find those as you wander through the ooaks here. I love Halloween and I hope to get some more things made for the shoppe. Is there some spooky whimsical character you would like to see? I thought about perhaps some of my trick or treat mummies.
Or perhaps a few of my wee spell casters.
I have even been thinking about designing a few needle felted or felted characters. They can be used as pins, necklaces, or even attached to a head band. As you can tell my muse has been singing her wee lil head off these past few days. But that's a good thing...really it is!!!

Until next time..............HUGS, Regi

OMGOSH...Beads beads everywhere

I think I am about to go cross eyed here....LOL  I have been beading the faery butterfly wings all weekend. Ok well that's a lie...I have been beading ONE of the wings all weekend. I hope to have it completed tomorrow so I can start on the other one and then actually get to work on the faery sculpt that goes with them. I know some of you are thinking "Hummmmmm...Regi sure is getting old and slow" and there is a tiny bit of truth to that statement. A TINY BIT!!!! What's taking so much time is that I am removing beads from an antique dress and using them for the beads. I don't know if you know this but back in the day (and NOOOO I am not saying I remember it from experience, so shoosh) when a dress was sewn and hand beaded they put each bead on individually. I am not complaining at all....just explaining why it's taking some time to get my wings done. I'm trying to just take off the beads I need for this project for now. I want to take some of the fabric of the dress with the beads attached and make a witch's outfit with it....but that's a post for another day. So what creative endeavor have you been up to this weekend?

I also wanted to let all my friends that come to visit me here at the old Southern oak tree in on a secret. For the next week anyone that wants to purchase any of the items I currently have for sale in my Etsy shoppe, I will take $10 off the listed price. Just send me a note through Etsy before you buy and I will make the change for you and note that the item is for purchase by you only. I am doing it for this week only. The reason being (1) that I love all of you and (2) the Chazman seems to have gotten to big for his britches....literally!!! I need to buy him some school uniforms and the proceeds from any sells are going to go for that. Pass it along to all your friends. I would greatly appreciate it and so would the Chazman. Poor dear doesn't want to wear his birthday suit to school...hehe!!!

Until next time................Hugs, Regi (and the Chazman)
