Love making paper crafts!!

Remember the three cones I showed you yesterday? Well....I finished them and just had to show them off.

I love how this little one turned out. I made her dress out of ribbon and then adorned the waist and neckline with tiny pearls. She is holding a tiny crystal in her hand. I hope you can see it of you click on the picture and make it bigger. Yes...you can do that...go ahead...try it.  Could you see the tiny crystal? I hope so!!

How about this little darlin all bundled up in her pink winter coat and earmuffs. She is holding a pair of paper winter mittens. I detailed them by sewing the tiny snowflakes on them and then writing on them. One states "Baby, it's cold" and the other states "outside". Have you heard the song by that title sung by Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone? Ohhhh...it's good.

Last but not least by any means is my tiny winter dancer faerie. Can't you just see her dancing out under the snowflakes? Snowflakes are January rain....well...in some places....not here!! HA    The snowflake she is holding , I made from glass beads and crystals.

I'm enjoying making things for our January/winter tree. I'm working on the paper tags that will hang from the tree now. It's really beginning to shape up. I will take a photo when I get it completely finished. Yea yea...I'm a quirky, whimsical soul and I wouldn't want to be any other way!!

Until next time............Hugs,

WOOT WOOT...ALABAMA Boys did it again!!

OK...(still woot wooting) yes I am VERY excited that our ALABAMA boys did it again....winning the National championship last night. They played awesome!! Congratulations guys!!

Ya'll will never guess what I did this weekend. Noooo...I'm not going to make you guess, I'll tell you straight away. HA!!  I took all my Christmas decorations down with the exception of our big Christmas tree in the family room. Do I see SHOCKED faces out there? hehe  I did take all the Christmas ornaments off . I let the white lights (just something about sitting in the dark with just the tree on and squinting at the lights...they look like shining stars) and the cranberry beads stay on it though. I have always wanted to leave the tree up to decorate for other holidays throughout the year but never had the "nerve" to. Well...this year I decided what the heck...I'll do it!! The Chazman is very excited...he loves when we decorate for holidays and man oh man are there some good holidays to decorate for. There's.....Valentines, Mardi Gras, St Patrick's, Easter, Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know there are a few more in between.  For this month we are decorating it with just a winter theme. So far I have some of my handmade snowflakes on it. Here's the link if you would like to make some....they're FUN to make. We hung some vintage crystals on it....they are suppose to represent ice. HEY...it's a winter tree!! The cranberry beads represent holly berries which grow abundantly in cold weather plus I added a few more faux holly berries in with the pine cones. Our winter tree still needed a few more items so yesterday I started working on some tags to hang on the branches.

WOW....time really can get away from you when you are having fun...the saying is true!!! I spent most of yesterday finding vintage images I wanted to use. I just love vintage children photos but there sure are some creepy looking ones out there. Wait wait...I could use some of those for Halloween or All Souls day. I need to go back and reference those for later use. (where's that muse when I need her...she could have reminded me of that YESTERDAY) It takes time too in saving them....printing them out and sorting them. Today I'm working on detailing them, putting German glass on some, using lace, string, buttons, shells....just what ever I have stashed about that I can use on them to make them purty!!  Now, do ya see the last WIP photo..the one with the cones? Noooo, they aren't going to be clown hats..hehe...they are cones that the little snowbabies will be sitting in. I'm excited to get them finished. So I'm ending this post so I can.....PLAY!!!

Until next time..........Hugs,

There's a new WhoDoo in town!!!

It's Saturday....YEA!!! The Hubbikins is at work....YEA!! Now I don't mean YEA in a mean way because I like it when he is home with us BUT him working today is overtime AND it let's me work in my studio without feeling guilty. Anyone else like that? Ohhhh, I so hope I'm not the only one. Oh well, if I am I have always been a bit odd different. HEHE

The Chazman is having his bestest buddy over this afternoon so they can build with Legos and battle monsters (in video games people...we have a monster free home...mostly) and then he is spending the night. Chaz asked (very sweetly in that ohhh mom pppplease voice) if I would make his very bestest buddy a string man. Oh yes....Chaz informed me that we DO NOT call them dolls when it comes to guys.....it's a string man. So...I made a string MAN and here he is....meet WhooDoo Kahuna...the wave master!!

Chaz liked him and hinted that he would like one for his swamp AND that N will like him too and want more. So I might be making string dolls men this afternoon. ^_^ Hmmmm, wonder if anyone else would like one. They are cute on a keychain, necklace, hanging on the mirror in your car. Might have to do a few for the shop. What do you think?

I plan on finishing the faerie wings for Godfrey and then while they are drying I can work on Godfrey himself. Ohhhh, I'm going to so love working today...without any worries or any guilt. If my hubbikins does happen to read this post....well....I LOVE YOU sweetie!!!

Until next time..........Hugs,
