Mr. Sandman ummm I mean Mr Bugman....please go away!!!!

OMGOSH....I know you must be thinking that I have completely lost my mind now by changing sandman to bugman but I haven't....honest!! I said sandman because when I was writing my title to begin with I had used "Mr Bugman...please go away" and the Chordettes song Mr Sandman popped into my head...hehe!!! Oh peoples, I so hope that the bugman does NOT come to visit you in any shape, form or fashion. He is a horrible guest.  I spent all of yesterday afternoon at the doctor's office with the Chazman who has been sick for the pass few days. He has that nasty stomach bug that is going around (stomach issues, sore throat, coughing and really, really tired) and of course there is nothing you can do but wait for it to leave on it's own. I'm just praying it doesn't decide to jump to my room and stay even longer. That soooooo won't work!!!

I know that my post Windsday (hehe) lead ya'll to believe that I was going to be doing some sculpting and I had ever intention of doing just that but decided that first I would get my tags put on all the jewelry pieces I will be taking to Beach Reflections this weekend. Good Golly Miss Molly that took all day.....but...at least everything is tagged and ready to go. I even finished a few more shell necklaces and two hermie habitats. Yea me!!

I think this is my favorite medallion. Little fishie looks like he is swimming and blowing bubbles.

Before anyone says anything....this is not sand from our beaches. This is sand from the Dollar Tree. Not that I went and got sand out of the parking lot but got it from inside the store. Ohhh and not saying that there was sand all over the floors. It was in a bag and I bought it. hehe

I decided that I'm also going to take two of my mermaid ooaks to the shop and see if they might find a new home.

I still am planning on doing some clay characters using the auger shells....honest I am!! I'm just so excited about being asked to put some of my things in a new shop at the beach that I think is going to do really well. I mean the shop....not so much my pieces BUT I do hope they do good too. Ohhhhhhh, can ya tell I haven't had much sleep? ^_^

I hope that YOU have a wonderful Friday and weekend. Mine will be spent trying to talk the Bugman into leaving this abode and real quick like. Now......let's just sing Mr Sandman so I can get it out of my head and not be humming it all weekend too. Of course, you will probably be humming it now...BAHAHAHA!!!!

Happy Windsday....ummmm...I mean Wednesday ^_^

Oh yes...it's a bit windy here today but that's a good thing as I'm sitting here watching the branches swish this way and that. The old oak trees that surround me are seeming to be whispering for me to come out and dance. Of course I have to decline (today) as I have a very impatient muse wanting me to start listening to her and begin sculpting. Bossy lil thing she is...hehe!!!

Sitting on my desk in a oyster shell are some shells that I do believe are my most favorite of all. Yes, yes I think all shells hold their beauty but these....OH THESE....always, always call to my mermaid soul and they are so so pretty. What shell am I talking about? The Auger shell.

See.....I told ya they were pretty shells. Do they call to you too? Do you see anything other than a auger shell laying in an oyster shell? Look closely.

I see several different things when I look at them. Like a sweet little unicorn frolicking about (the shell being it's magical horn) or perhaps a unicorn seahorse wisping here and there under the deep blue green sea. It could also be a magical torch to light a mermaids way into some of the deep ocean caves or as a friend said she saw....a mermaids magic wand. SEE...I'm not the only one that sees what an object COULD be as well. The very first thing that came to mind with the first one I ever found was that it was a lost tooth of a narwhal. Ohhhhh...narwhals are not mystical creatures but living whales. Ones that could make you think of mystical or even long ago times. No one is really sure what that one long tooth or tusk is really for but some believe it's used as a jousting weapon when the males are courting the females. Doesn't that bring in mind of times long ago? They are also known as the unicorn of the sea...what a beautiful mystical image that brings to mind. I love when we have living creatures that seem like they should only be mystical ones and those are the ones that get my muse a singing!!

Narwhals

Now I think you can figure out just what I might be doing today. (wink wink) Will it be a unicorn, a seahorse unicorn or a narwhal? I guess you will just have to plan a visit back here to find out. Ya know I love my visitors as they become friends in no time.

Until next time..........keep a shell in your pocket and some sand between your toes!!!

Happy Happy Monday!!!

I hope that everyone has an amazing week this week and Happy Happy Monday!!! So glad that you stopped by to visit....thank you thank you!!

It was a rather quiet weekend around here. We did find a treasure chest (yard sale) while out running some errands on Saturday. Found some items I plan on redoing into some very cool things or at least that's what my muse is whispering.

I'm sooo hoping the clock works...she said it did when she stopped using it....just needs a battery...she said. If it doesn't then my mind is seeing a little clock maker sitting on it just working away. The round box and the cube box I'm thinking of painting some of my whimsical mermaids on. The cute little stackable glass jars are going to hold some sand and shells. The little mason jar....well....I've already used it. It's now a hermie house.

Before anyone says anything...that's play sand from the Dollar Tree inside.  I  (looking around)  do have some beach sand but it's not much. It's sand that is found inside the shells I bring home and that sand I use in the tiny glass vials found in my jewelry designs.

Like I said...it was a quiet weekend around here. The Chazman wasn't feeling really well (I will be so HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY when Mother Nature has resolved whatever issues she is having) and the mister watched TV. Well.....he really watched through his eyelids most of the time...amazing how men can do that.
I myself worked on some more shell medallions

and a couple of oyster ring holders

I will probably be working on the medallions and making the hemp roping for them today but that's after I have another cup of coffee and read for a little bit. It's a rather overcast morning and that makes for such a perfect snuggle in a comfy chair and read kinda day.

Until next time.........keep a shell in your pocket and some sand between your toes!!
