Merbaby Keepsake

I love it when I get a request for one of my keepsakes especially when the person knows what they want. I recently had such an order. It's for a baby shower gift.....for a baby girl and the mommie-to-be loves mermaids.

Isn't she a cutie pie!!! Such a happy little smile....maybe one of the nursefish swam by and made her nose tickle or maybe mer babies are like our human babies and when they smile at infancy it means the angels are watching over them. That's what my Great Grandmother would have said...might be one of those old  Southern sayings. My Granddaddy would have said "she has gas"...^_^....but I don't see any tiny air    bubbles.

Acacia (pronouced Ah-kah-sha) is made from Prosculpt clay. She measures at a hair over 2 inches. Her tiny little face is detailed using acrylic paints. Her fins on her long tail have been dusted with fine MICA powders in shades of the ocean. Tiny silver beads and glitter adorn her tail as well. Her hair is dyed lambswool. Her tiny sea crown is made from the same tiny silver beads and glitter. She has wrapped herself around a natural seashell. Even in infancy the merbabies know to keep themselves protected. She has a twisted silver wire hanger with a pink coral stone attached. She hangs on a spiral silver wire.

For my baby keepsakes I make a tiny Birth Annoucement card to go with them. I think it's a nice touch to leave with the keepsake or to be placed in the baby's book. For this one I used a vintage image from an old beach postcard....embellished it with the same tiny silver beads and glitter. On the back I wrote areas for the
parents to complete once the bundle of joy arrives.

If you ever need a special keepsake for a baby shower....anniversary.....wedding....birthday...holiday or "just because" please keep me in mind. You can email me any time and I will get back with you promptly.

As always, thank you for stopping by. Until next time......

Hugs,
Regi
