Resyculbinz has had it's first Love Bug Faery sighting. This is a most wonderous event as this tiny faery does not normally let herself be seen. Lovie was spotted today picking the early blooms of the wild white rose. This rose is known for it's powers of the heart. Right after the first of each new year this tiny faery listens to wishes and dreams of those that are looking for a love to call their own. Lovie picks out one individual that she feels needs alittle extra help and then listens to others who she thinks will be a perfect match. Once she finds the match she flies off and places her faery vase filled with the wild white roses gently under the sleeping matches pillow. The fragrance of the roses fills the room and the dream of their meeting unfolds.
Sometimes the wild white roses aren't enough to help this lovelorn couple meet so Lovie asks for a wee bit of help from Cupid.
Lovie is of course one of my Bulbz characters from the township of Resyculbinz. Her body is a tiny light bulb that has been reenforced with a strong wire armature. Her face, hands and feet were sculpted using Sculpey clay without the use of any molds. She is hand painted using acrylic paints. Her eyes are bone beads that I painted using acrylic paints. Her hair is lambswool. She is wrapped in wool yarn and her collar and wrist/ankle bands are made from silk ribbons. Her wings are hand embroidered silk ribbons with tiny Australian crystals hanging from the tips. Her tiny faery vase is sculpted from Sculpey clay and then hand rubbed with acrylic paints. The handle is made from silver wire with glass beads and tiny Australian crystals.
The wild white roses are made from silk ribbons. She is standing on a tiny wooden painted base covered in natural dried moss. She stands at 8 1/2 inches tall.
Until next time....
Hugs,
Regi
