Monday...Monday

I've never been so happy to see a Monday. Since it is Monday......is it time yet? Time to take them out of their alcohol bath?  Noooo....I'm not getting anything drunk...hehe  It's the sea stars (banded star fish) soaking to take THAT stinky odor away and to keep their natural color. Can't take them out until tonight though and I'm (fingers crossed) hoping that tomorrow brings the sunshine. (so that I can let them dry)

We have been keeping a close EYE on them. No NOSES though, that top has not been open since it was closed. I'm hoping that the smell has been evaporated by the alcohol...really....really....hoping!!!  The Chazman said that it looks like we have a box of baby snakes and I could have SO done without that comment. Now I catch myself looking over that way to make sure nothing is crawling out of THAT box.

I was so excited when I posted yesterday about our awesome gift that I totally forgot to mention that while we were on our way to the beach that we passed a HUGE yard sale. Of course, we just had to stop..hehe

Found these glass containers. The tops are big enough that I think I can turn them into beach sand/shell keepsakes AND put a mermaid ooaks inside with them.
Artificial snow. Yes..you read right. I think it looks like scales...mermaid scales.
 Did a little experiment...nail polish...faux snow...ooaks.

Dang old camera!! It's so hard to get really good shots some days but here is how the snow scales look. What do you think? I won't use it for all my mermaids but I think using it for some will be good.

Now...I have a special order for a shell necklace so it's off I go. So happy that YOU stopped by to visit. I hope you'll be coming back and often.

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi

Zombie time starting soon..MUAHAHAHAHA!!

Well...I guess there really is no need for me to apologize for letting so much time slip by yet AGAIN between postings. I think everyone has figured out by now that the time in Regiville passes by a tad bit different than else where...hehehe!!

I have been working on a group of my traditional lil mummy candy containers for the Chazman's classmates for next month. (Halloween is only 34 days away..WOOT WOOT) If you are new to visiting under the old Southern ooak tree then click HERE to see a "HOW TO" on making some mummies of your own.  As well as working on these lil guys I am also working on my Tooth Faery helpers for the Angel program...as well as ribbon barrettes and pins. Busy, Busy, BUSY I am!!!  I promise some WIP photos of these projects soon. I also have a few more witches planned for my 2013 Witch series that I needed to get started on too. One of my sweet friends and ooaks collectors stopped by yesterday and adopted Bella, the dragonfly witch ooaks. I was sooo excited!! I so love making my ooaks but really love when others love them too.

I have to put my muse aside for a few days as I am starting one of two deep cleans that will take me through Thursday...I think...probably...hopefully before then. (I clean beach houses and condos...so love my job) I'm sure that by the time I finish with these I am going to feel like part of the Zombie apocalypse...MUHAHAHA

Until next time..........munch, munch ummm I mean HUGS,
Regi

Happy Happy Monday!! (it is Monday, ri iight??)

Happy Monday to all. I hope that it's going to be an outstanding week full of adventures or at least filled with projects that you are so wanting to start OR finish.  I know that I have several projects I hope to finish this week and some I want to get started on. I will have to squeeze them in between some beach house cleanings this week but I CAN DO IT....oh yes I can. (telling myself that I can get those houses cleaned...peep talk ya know!!)

Saturday as I stated in my last post had no cleanings being done. YEA!! It was raining, of course, but we still had some fun places to go. We have a great flea market here and well...with it raining it seemed like the perfect time to go back and visit. Soooo HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY that we did too!! I found some treasures that had my muse not just singing but YELLING at the top of her wee lil lungs that I just had to purchase. Sooo, being the good artist that always (mostly) listens to her muse, I did!!

I love what I found....don't you? The vintage wooden carousel horse is going to have one of my Santa ooaks sitting on him. The bigger trunk I do believe is going to be holding toys that the elves have been busy making and maybe even an elf digging through them..hehe Can't ya just see little elf legs poking out and...ok ok enough for now. The small chest looks like it would belong to a witch in training and the "Kisses" clay pot would be perfect for a lil witch kissing booth ummm pot. The other two wooden boxes are going to become bases. The glass cats were a purrrrrfect find. I'm thinking of a lil witch that didn't quite perform her spell just right and ended up making her cat invisible. OMGOSH...I can only imagine the trouble ummmmm I mean I can only imagine how much more trouble Gabie and Pumpkin could get in being invisible. (trembling) Owwww!!

Now....I'm off to paint some of the pieces I have baked already and then work on a few more pieces that need to be baked and then sculpt a witch or two and then do some sewing on the little tooth faerie helpers and then...ok that might be enough for today, eh?

Until next time..........Hugs,
Regi

Psssstt....I also found two round wooden bases at another one of our local flea markets plus an added bonus. When we walked outside and I was getting back in the car I looked down and there was a giant dragonfly. Poor baby wasn't alive and the ants were all over him. I poured water on him to wash him off and his two biggest wings came off....in perfect condition. I'm thinking they would look sweet on one of my lil witches.

My sculpting muse..she be a HOLLERING!!!!

Oops...did I do THAT...again? Oh yes I did...I let another week slip by without posting to all my wonderful friends that stop by to visit with me here under the old Southern Ooaks trees. I enjoy your visits so much so I had better get my hiney in gear and design some things so I can post...ri iight??

Spring is here....YEA!! Yeah yeah...I know I'm a day late but HEY...spring is here!! I love when all the flowers start blooming and things start to change to all the lovely hues of green. The butterflies and dragonflies start to come out of hiding and that gets me faerie muse to singing and quiet loverly too I might add. She has been whispering of some tea cup fearies, some garden faeries too and some more characters from my faerie race series. Do you remember Charme and Sabastin?

I'm going to do some of the smaller fae riding on some forest creatures that join in the race this year. I am still so proud of these two...being in Doll Collector Magazine (Feb/Mar 2011) They are at the Foley Performing Arts gallery just waiting to be adopted. I'm really thinking of bringing them home soon. I miss them!!! I would love for them to sell but then again..these were my first published pieces and I'm kinda attached to them.

Spring is a wonderful time to be living on the coast too. OH HECK FIRE...who am I kidding..it's a great time anytime to live on the coast. At least here on the southern coast. ^_^   It seems my muse discovered a mermaid grotto that she wants to share with everyone so be ready for the mermaids to come a visiting here before to much longer. She also has been whispering about some hair accessories with the mermaid in mind.

Sculpting and designing won't be done as much right now. I'm really excited to be working this spring and summer. I know that some are either laughing right now or shaking their heads. Those that know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about cleaning....cleaning condos and beach houses. I love to clean and getting to here the waves hit the shore and smell the salt air while I'm doing it just makes it that much better. Of course, I could do without the seagulls laughing at me....silly birds!! I will get back in my studio as my muses will NOT leave me alone for to long if I don't. Plus....this gal can't go without her "therapy" for to long either.

Until next time........Hugs,
Regi

Ooohh ooohhh OH....if any of my fellow artist friends know where we can get the wood base and glass domes to cover them for not a whole lot....hook this quirky chick up...would ya?  HUGS

How to get rid of an unwelcomed visitor!!

My title is my reason that I haven't been posting for a few days now. How in the world do you get rid of a VERY unwelcomed bug visitor? I have been sick since the day after Christmas...geez Louise...I love guest that come for the holidays but unwelcomed ones...well...let's just say they wear out any welcome they would have had before they even arrive. SEE...I'm babbling, making no sense. Oh WAIT...I'm like that most the time aren't I....hehe!!

I hope that you and yours have started out the new year with good health. I do so (normally) love the first of the year. It's like having blank pages in front of you that you can start writing about all the grand adventures that await through out this new year. Pens ready?

WHOA...the dust bunnies have been a hopping...sorry!!!!

My little muse has been patiently sitting on my desk watching me cough my fool head almost off as I have been jotting down ideas she has been whispering to me. I hope to be bringing some ooaks out and about that will just make you want to say "Hey...I want that"  hehe  I have plans for more faeries this year along with a dragon series that will surely make you say "AHHHHH" Yeppers, no scary dragons here...just AHHHH ones. She has been talking about some gnomes too....not sure just where we are going with that one but we will see. More desk sitters coming your way too...I love designing my desk sitters. They really look cute sitting next to your computer or phone with a little tag to give that much needed motivation some of us so desperately need or just a simple "HEY".

OK...here goes the coughing...time to take my medicine AND just for the record...who ever said "Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" never, ever tasted this medicine. BLAHHHH!!! Oh wait...that was Mary Poppins and she would never tell us a tale....ri iight? Of course she would...she even tried to tell us that "Supercalifragilisticexpialidious" was a real word.

Until next time..............Hugs (from afar thank goodness so I don't pass this visitor on to YOU)
