I do doodle designs sometimes ^_^

Happy Sunday peoples!! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend filled with adventure and if no adventures then I do hope some much needed rest and relaxation. Both are good....very, very good indeed.

I have been doodling all morning. Yes, I do doodle designs sometimes..hehe!! Try saying "I do doodle designs" fast five times...get that tongue a working. My doodles are hopefully (fingers crossed) going to be painted on glass Christmas balls. Keeping with my beach themed designs I'm excited to get started on some this afternoon.

Now keep in mind these are just doodles (rough drawings) I don't sit and draw neatly unless I'm planning on actually using the pen and pencil for something where it needs to be neat. I just love to doodle!!! I have a few more doodles that I've done over the years that I might just use too. We'll see how it goes.

Hope you'll come back to sit under the old Southern Ooaks tree to see just how these turned out. My muse has so many ideas being sung to me and well...I wish she would just shhhhush for a bit and let me catch up. ^_^

Until next time............Mermaid kisses and starfish wishes (my new saying)

No beach today :(

Well....there seems to be a herd of bulls gathering round the old watering hole and it looks like we just might need to stay far, far away today. Now.....I bet I have you wondering "why in the world would Regi be afraid of a bunch of bulls". I mean they're just a bunch of silly male cows, ri iight? Not these ones.....they are bull SHARKS. Ya know.....those creatures with rows and rows of all them big, ole teeth. I so don't want the Chazman or me getting confused for the lunch buffet.

Since I'm not getting my mermaid soul time in at the beach today, I thought I would finish up the newest batch of shell jewelry I have been working on.

Someone asked me not long ago about how did I pick my groupings. My answer was......that I don't. They pick themselves. I just grab several at one time and thumb through them and it seems they just kinda pop out all on their own.  This one was no exception either. I love the simple light blue/grey hues that some of the shells have once they have been cleaned and sat to dry completely. This piece is hanging on an 18 inch natural polished hemp rope. The base is a scallop shell with three kitten paws (they look like lace to me) and the top of a broken spiral shell. Silver wire twist with vintage faux pearls hanging down beside shells. I used some more vintage faux pearls along with some pretty Tibetain spacers.

I love wearing these with my scoop neck tshirts and an 18 inch rope is perfect for that. This one has the scallop base along with a beautiful brown/green/grey moon shell and a natural piece of coral. Silver twist wire hangs over the coral. I used some of my amber quartz beads and tiny ceramic beads on the rope.

Now, I love to do groupings with my medallions but when I am given the gift of one of these....well....they are pretty enough to be all by themselves. This is called a baby's ear. Mother Nature even put a perfect hole in the top so that I could use it. I wanted to keep it simple so I used two wooden beads and a Tibetan turtle charm. Beads on the 18 inch (well...it must be 18 inch day....hehe) rope are black acrylic beads and Tibetan spacers.

Now here's one of my whimsical ones. I love the saying "Put your toes in the sand" and this is just what this piece is saying and AGAIN.....it's on a 18 inch rope. Scallop shell is the base with an oyster shell and a small scallop shell attached. The feet charm is one of my hand sculpted clay charms and the glass vial attached is filled with sand from Gulf Shores and tiny shells found on a beach walk. On the rope I used natural wooden beads and small bone beads. It has that "hippie" vibe, yes? Hang ten dudes and dudettes!!!

Until next time..........Hugs,

This lil piggie went to the market...this lil piggie went.......

AND these lil piggies are going to Beach Reflections this morning...hehe!!! Can ya tell I have either (A) had to much coffee already this morning or (B) read wayyy to many nursery rhymes or (C) am just a tad bit touched in the noggin or (D) all of the above.  If you guessed (D) all of the above then you'd be exactly right.

See the lil piggies? HEHE  Ohhhh, I just have to laugh at myself sometimes. (ok I laugh at myself all the time) but I just couldn't resist making a foot card (or would that be foot note?) to put the barefoot sandals on. I have all nine pairs on their own little foot and even slipped over the second toe.

I could have just kept on making these but this morning was my deadline for getting them to the shop so that they could be inventoried in, in time for all the folks that are coming down for the Hangout Music Festival. I am planning on making some to put in my Etsy shop, so if you're interest in getting a pair keep a watch over on my sidebar to see when they have been added. (yeppers, I have a link to my shop over to the right. I know it can be missed sometimes because of getting so lost in looking at all the pretty pictures...hehe)

Here's a recap of the ones going this morning and keep those fingers crossed that they all sale!!! Ppplease.

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi

1 & 2 & Twist & Stretch!!

Bet by the title you thought you were fixing to walk into a gym....Regi's workout studio...feel the burn kinda place, ri iight?? Well....not today. (Hey...I heard that "Whew" you just let out...hehe) Today's title means that I'm not just twisting the hemp rope but I decided to stretch some elastic cording as well in making some of my barefoot sandals. If you missed out on yesterday's post and have no clue what I'm jabbering about then click HERE to find out. By the way....why don't you know already? YOU should be visiting everyday ^_^. I so love when YOU visit with me.

I'm having so much FUN making these. It's a great frustration reducer since I have to concentrate on the designs for the pieces and then counting out the beads. I mean we all know that I'm a "one thing at a time" kinda gal so it makes everything else fade away....for the time being anyways. Here's a few of the "twisted" sandals I made yesterday.

These I made a bit different. Instead of my twisted closure I kept the strings long so that it can be wrapped around the ankle and then tied in the back, front, or side. (kinda like Roman sandals, eh?)

Close up of the "Roman" sandals...hehe
Since these will be worn at the beach I thought perhaps a beach scene one would be nice. I used vintage brass beads and bronze shell charms.
Close up of the beach scene ones.

Now I think I have made the twisted ones where they will fit just about anyone. I left enough roping at the ends for larger sizes and if they are to big then they can be clipped and re knotted at the ends. Have to try and make everyone Happy Happy Happy!!! I have some more designs for the twisted that I'm working on today and will post them tomorrow.

Now even though I LOVE doing my macrame, my muse started whispering about making some beaded ones using stretchy cord. Those that visit often know good and well that I have to listen to the whispers or they become out right screams...hehe. Here's a pair doing what the "whispers" told me. (Yes, yes I hear voices in my head. Don't you??)

Now..my mermaid soul came out with these.
I even attached mermaid scales to the backs. (ok not really mermaid scales, cause I would never take a mermaid's scales...that wouldn't be nice..hehe)
All the beads are glass and the larger focal bead on each sandal has a pretty gold flaking inside.

I'm off to do some more twisting and stretching. Noooo, for real this time. I need to take a break and really do my workout and then get back to this kind of twisting and stretching. ^_^

Until next time...............Hugs,
Regi
