This lil piggie went to the market...this lil piggie went.......

AND these lil piggies are going to Beach Reflections this morning...hehe!!! Can ya tell I have either (A) had to much coffee already this morning or (B) read wayyy to many nursery rhymes or (C) am just a tad bit touched in the noggin or (D) all of the above.  If you guessed (D) all of the above then you'd be exactly right.

See the lil piggies? HEHE  Ohhhh, I just have to laugh at myself sometimes. (ok I laugh at myself all the time) but I just couldn't resist making a foot card (or would that be foot note?) to put the barefoot sandals on. I have all nine pairs on their own little foot and even slipped over the second toe.

I could have just kept on making these but this morning was my deadline for getting them to the shop so that they could be inventoried in, in time for all the folks that are coming down for the Hangout Music Festival. I am planning on making some to put in my Etsy shop, so if you're interest in getting a pair keep a watch over on my sidebar to see when they have been added. (yeppers, I have a link to my shop over to the right. I know it can be missed sometimes because of getting so lost in looking at all the pretty pictures...hehe)

Here's a recap of the ones going this morning and keep those fingers crossed that they all sale!!! Ppplease.

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi

Barefootin!!!

WOW....I do believe that it's summertime already. I know the official first day of summer is not until June 21st but with our humidity.....well....it's here a tad bit sooner. Doesn't surprise me though really, seeing how poor Mother Nature has been so confuzzled as of late. ^_^

Now I bet you're wondering why I have Robert Parker's song Barefootin in my post for today. Ohhh, admit it....you know you were. The reason being is that I have been working on some designs for barefoot sandals. Since summer time is here upon us, I wanted to make some unique ones of my own.

Here's my first pair and (blushing) please forgive the bright white skin and freckled chubbie legs and feet. I made these using a natural polished brown hemp rope (so there will be no scratchiness) and doing my twisted square knot. The focal center point is the vintage glass white beads (look kinda like turtle eggs, eh?) and the turquoise stone turtle bead. I did the twisted square knot as the anklet part as well and it has the same square knot closure I use on my bracelets. That gives you a way to adjust the tension. Attached to the back ropes are more of the vintage glass beads. I have worn these around the house for the past couple of days and they are very comfortable. Great for those beach walks this summer!!!

I think all my other pairs will not have as long of a center so that it will fit several sizes of feet. (mine are a 7 1/2 to 8....just so you have an idea) I plan on making more and having them in my Etsy shop soon. ^_^

Until next time..........keep some sand (or green grass) between your toes and enjoy each day,
Regi

Doing the twist this weekend..WOOHOO!!!

Happy Happy Saturday!! I think we all should be dancing....doing the twist like we did last summer baby..hehe  OK OK I don't really mean doing the dance twist but the hemp rope twist....tying knots...MACRAME!!!  I love to sit and macrame and today is the perfect day for it. Overcast and little bit on the humid side. 83% worth of humid...ohhh the joys of living in the South but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else...well...ok...the mountains might be nice.

I started working on some of my twisted hemp rope bracelets last week to donate to the Baldwin County Christmas Angel program. It's a great project to do sitting in the car waiting to pick up the Chazman from school. I plan on getting several more made today and then make some of my paper boxes to put them in and then of course make some of my pompom ties to put on top of the boxes. (click HERE to see my HOW TO post on making these) It's going to be a FUN day....if I don't get myself all tied up in knots...hehehe!!!

This bottom one I did several months back and I'm adding it to the programs gifts. This one and the red and black one are for girls most definitely but I think all the others could be worn by either a girl or a boy, yes?

Until next time...........Hugs,
Regi

Therapy time...for reals!!

OK I know that some are probably thinking "OMGOSH...I knew Regi was in therapy". HAHA...very funny too. If I really think about it I probably do need to be in therapy with a honest to goodness therapist BUT the fact is.....my art is my therapy!! It calms me, soothes me and even helps to take my mind off the things that life just wants to put in my way. Yeppers...that life getting in the way thing AGAIN!!

I love all of the different medians that seem to roll in and out when I need them the most and right now it's my macrame art that is keeping me from getting all twisted up inside. Who woulda thunk it? Twisting rope and twine can keep ya from feeling all twisted up inside....and WOW...does it ever!!  I just finished a really cute Bohemian inspired macrame bracelet that probably could easily jump over to my mermaid inspired work. I used a tree of life charm as the focal point on this one and wove some of my aquamarine pieces into the branches. Matter of fact, all of the beads on this piece are aquamarine with the exception of one. I love using this precious stone. Did you know that aquamarine is the birthstone for March? Now ya do!! The Bohemian inspiration is the tree of life along with what some believe wearing aquamarine can bring. It can bring a clear mind which aides in perception and the ability to make decisions with confidence. The mermaid side of this stone is like the endless wash of waves on the shore bringing to mind the sounds and smells of the sea. This always reminds us to stop and enjoy the beauty that is all around us.

The star bead in the middle is the only one that is not in the aquamarine family.

I used my twisted knot closure on this piece. It holds strong from being worn and that's important to me. It can fit a small wrist up to a larger one. Know anyone that is having a birthday this month? Wouldn't they just love to receive a special one of a kind bracelet?

I'm working on a mermaid inspired one now. It will be done with black cording, pearls, charms, natural shells and one of my mermaid clay charms. I'm just so relaxed right now and loving what I'm doing today. How about YOU? What are you working on? I hope it's something that takes you away from the everyday and let's your imagination soar.

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi

Catch that MONSTER!!!

WOW...it takes some time to round up 25 little monsters but I did it!!! All the bags are completed and ready to have the goodies placed inside. Chaz decided that he wanted each bag to have the same thing inside so no ones feelings got hurt because someone got something different than them. Ahhhhhh, isn't my little man just the sweetest. YES HE IS!!! ^_^

Here's what the kiddos will be getting on Valentine's Day from the Chazman. Each bag will have a "Heart POP ring"....a little tissue paper bag with 3 sweet tart candy hearts inside and a handmade friendship bracelet.  Chaz decided that he really liked three of the sayings the best so I made tags yesterday. The ones he picked for the bags were (1) Have a MONSTER of a day!! (2) I only have EYES for you!! and last but not least (3) You're so COOL it's Scary!! I think he picked out three good sayings. The friendship bracelet was one I thought about yesterday after Chaz and I talked about the bags on our walk to school yesterday and him saying that he wanted all the bags to have the same thing in them. As soon as I walked in the door, I immediately started making them. They got the Chazman stamp of approval when he got home from school yesterday. Soooo, that's what I will be doing for the next few days...I'm sure!!

Simple little bracelets using the macrame twisted square knot...some glass beads and finishing it off with a sliding square knot closure. The candy will be gone in seconds but this bracelet they can keep and remember their friend....the Chazman!!

Until next time...........Hugs,
Regi

Psssttt.....if you are my 5th person to comment on this post then I will make YOU a friendship bracelet. Of course it will be a bit more grown up. ^_^

Angel Gifts...makes my heart feel all warm!!

Good evening my sweet friends. I know that I'm late posting but I have been a busy busy woman today. Plus my muse wouldn't let me get near the computer very much....slave driver!!!  I guess I'll forgive her THIS TIME seeing how I have to have the items for the Angel program finished by Friday around lunch. However, I would greatly appreciate it if ya didn't tell her I forgive her right now. She can be such a DIVA when she discovers that she was correct in how she handled me. ^_^

I told ya'll yesterday that I was going to be making some of my gloved characters. WELL.....I lied...no...not really lied just temporarily misplaced my gloves and it's near to impossible to make gloved characters without gloves. HA!! I decided since my feeble mind or my muse (I bet she hid them...I know she did) couldn't put my hands on the gloves that I would make some of my felt finger puppets. The Chazman loved to have a little character from the story bouncing around while he was being told all about them. I figured it was a kid thing so others would too. (hoping with big hopes that they do) I only made one today but that's one less I will have to burn the midnight oil tonight making....ri iight??

TA-DA...little mousie is saying!! He is very excited that he got pulled out of the book so he can bounce around and peek over the top as his story is being read to a wee one. Hopefully, this will become a favorite bedtime story for someone. Tomorrow I'll be making a bear and a rabbit to go with two different storybooks. I love helping with this program!!

Now I know you must be thinking why in the world only one mousie got done today. Let me tell you why before you have to ask. ^_^  I was making keychains and a macrame wristlet. I use to macrame every chance I got. I mean the bug bit me big time back in the day..hehe!! I'm having to refresh myself on some of the knots and thank goodness there is google. What in the world would we do without google and youtube? Yes, once I found what I was looking for on google, I went to youtube to watch videos to help my feeble mind remember how to tie different knots. I did the Josephine knot....very cool knot!!!

See the fancy knots on the white keychain? Well of course you do...silly me!! That is a Josephine knot. Looks like a sailor knot on the white cording but on the red rope it looks completely different. Love them both and I hope who ever gets either of these loves them too.

I made a wristlet using it too and a guy or a girl could wear it with pride. It takes on a Celtic look in the red and black rope...or at least I think it does. ^_^

Now....family is hollaring their HONGRY and dinner is almost ready so I need to get up from here and make them happy. Thank you for dropping by....leave a comment and I will always reply back. (either to your email if I have it or I'll just leave it here.) Love my comments and I love YOU!!!!

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi
