Quiet Monday!!

Thank you for stopping by this beautiful Monday morning (or afternoon). I so love when you come to visit!!!

It's a quiet Monday here...the sun is shining...the birds are singing and I'm enjoying my time working on some shell jewelry pieces.

The earrings are done. So happy happy that I have some that match so well.
A pretty scallop shell with a glass vial with sand and a tiny cone shell inside. There is also a small scallop and barnacles attached. So love my beach walks and the treasures I find.
Here is an auger shell or perhaps it's really a unicorn horn with a small aquamarine bead. Pretty silver wire looped all around and a tiny glass vial filled with sand and a tiny lil auger shell.

The earrings are finished but I'm still working on the necklaces. They are on hemp rope (I want to keep the piece as natural as possible) and I still need to do the twisted square knot binding at the tops.

Again, thank you for stopping by. Please leave me a comment and an email addy so that I can send a reply back. Best way to make new friends and I love my friends!!!

Until next time..........keep a shell in your pocket and some sand between your toes,
Regi

Art studio has become a BATTLEFIELD!!!

First off I want to "WELCOME" my new friends. So happy that you came to visit and decided to stay!!!
Keep coming to visit, as this year I'm going to be giving away some of my art...at least once a month.  No do this or do that....all that will be required is to simply post a comment. I will pick a post and then say which comment will receive the gift. Pick as in what number comment...like "the 5th person to comment on this post will receive a gift." This is my way of saying thank you for visiting and a way to share my art!!  ^_^

Now....let's talk about my title, shall we?  HAHA  Yesterday you will recall that it was my mermaid soul and faerie soul that decided to have it out. (my souls are my muses...I was cursed blessed with several) What a ruckus those two caused too. Remember ya'll left me with clay balls being thrown at me....not good..so not good. I wouldn't leave you!! Well....ok....I wouldn't leave but I have to admit I probably would be laughing so hard that....ummmm...yes...ok...I would help you!! Now while those two were battling it out and being distracted, my gypsy soul decided to take advantage and come out. She reminded me that she loves Valentine's day and wanted to add her flair to my art. I think her addition was quiet lovely...............

Bronze wire was used to make the heart and then attached with silver wire one of my 80 year old vintage red glass beads and a tiny glass message bottle. There is a handwritten note inside the bottle that simply states "I LOVE YOU".  The fish hook earring wire is bronze and they have bronze stoppers on the back so that you won't loose them.

The next pair are two hearts attached. (two hearts together make one heart in love) Bronze wire was used to make the hearts as well as to attach them together.  Then I used some more of the vintage red glass beads and a tiny silver glass bead. The fish hook earrings are bronze with the stoppers attached. I love bronze...it goes with both gold and silver....or at least I think so.

The last set is one simple heart with the vintage red beads and tiny silver glass bead attached. Perfect for Valentine's...ri iight? Oh who am I kidding...these would be perfect anytime. ^_^

Now...my mermaid soul has wandered in and is looking around and I do believe before she can get anything started that I am going to work on my little sea dragon.

Until next time.......Hugs,
Regi

Went earring making CRAZY!!!

WOW...talk about someone that starts something and just can't stop herself. Ok well...it's not nice to talk about others unless you're telling something good they did but I'm not talking about others. I'm talking about myself. HeHe!!  I had ever intention of working on my next Santa piece and doing a set here and there of earrings just to take a break in between. OMGOSH....I so should have started working on Santa first...poor little guy is still just a head, hands and feet sitting here on my desk. Hold on just a moment please..................
OK I'm back. I had to turn Santa's head around. He was staring at me and it was creeping me out. ^_^

Let me show you what kept me from my man....my Santa man that is!!! Nine pairs of earrings...yeppers...I said NINE. I told ya I just couldn't stop myself. Ok well... obviously I did stop myself or I wouldn't be posting this, I would still be making earrings. HA!! OK enough chitter chatter (on my part) let me show you.

Muse whisperings

My muse has been whispering to me and she has several designs she is insisting that I consider. Who am I to argue with my muse!!! I mean really...would it do any good? I don't think so. ^_^  Some design ideas being tossed about are: Santa riding a polar bear....Santa riding on dolphins....Santa's head on a candlestick. NOW...that just did't sound right...hehe!! It's meant in a good way...ya know...just a bust of Santa attached to a candlestick. Now..that sounds better....much better.

To give my hand a bit of a rest before I do start my next Santa piece, my mermaid soul has come out to play.
A friend sent me some beads made from aquamarine and NOTHING evokes thoughts of the sea as much as this precious stone.

The beautiful round beads on the top are made from polished aquamarine. What do you think of when you see these? I think of mermaid tears!!

These look like a waterfall...can you see the mermaid sitting underneath it? I used tiny blue lace agate stones and two of the polished aquamarine in this set along with glass square beads.

Time to get busy so muse will stop flying around and buzzing in my ear. Besides, Ms Peaches is back to opening my ribbon drawer. I think the kitten  has come out to play for awhile. ^_^

Until next time.........Hugs,
Regi (and muse and Ms Peaches)
