What day is it? Hmmmmm.....

What day is it? WHAT day is it...huh huh? It's.........Wednesday...hehe. Betcha thought I was going to say something else didn't ya.

Today I'm going to be doing some of my twisted square knot bracelets. I'm going to make them in sets of two's or three's. Using some of my stones and pretty beads and buttons for the base one and then just do the other one or two in the twisted knot. I think wearing several look so good and make them stand out even more. Show that BOHO pride people!!!  Did ya notice that I said I use buttons?  I just love old vintage buttons and there are some really unique and pretty ones that can be use for so much more than just a button. Like the silver one here that looks like a Celtic design.

I hope you have a great day and have plans for doing something....anything...that makes ya HAPPY!!!

Until  next time........Hugs,
Regi

Boho glass bead bracelet

Today I'm working on some BOHO jewelry pieces. One is for the friend I am doing some pieces for and the others will go in my Etsy shop. I went on a mad hunt for some black beads this morning and found some of my gemstone beads that I had totally forgotten I had. YEA....love to find treasures...AGAIN. HEHE ^_^

Here is the commission piece.....a blue and black hued BOHO bracelet I made using memory wire. The focal bead is a hand blown glass bead...so pretty!! (and before you ask...NOOOO...I did not make it myself. Fire and me DO NOT go together..at all...just sayin)

She requested that each piece have it's own little paper box. I want to make each one a tad bit different. (that way I can hopefully remember which jewelry piece is in which box) I like to use tissue paper or some kind of filler in the bottom so that the piece doesn't jiggle around to much and wouldn't ya know it...I didn't have any of either. Not a problem though cause I am the queen of reusing items...oh yes I am!!! I always have leftover paper when making the boxes and I keep them. Well..ya never know when ya might need a small piece of paper....like I did today. I cut it into thin strips and then folded each tiny strip into a small fan and then opened it back up. Instant filler!!

For the top of this box I did one of my small butterflies. Printed an image off onto vellum paper...added a small wooden bead in the center and tied it to the top of the box. So simple yet so pretty, ri iight??

Now back to more beading for me. What are YOU working on today? Something interesting I bet!!

Until next time..........Hugs,
Regi

Therapy time...for reals!!

OK I know that some are probably thinking "OMGOSH...I knew Regi was in therapy". HAHA...very funny too. If I really think about it I probably do need to be in therapy with a honest to goodness therapist BUT the fact is.....my art is my therapy!! It calms me, soothes me and even helps to take my mind off the things that life just wants to put in my way. Yeppers...that life getting in the way thing AGAIN!!

I love all of the different medians that seem to roll in and out when I need them the most and right now it's my macrame art that is keeping me from getting all twisted up inside. Who woulda thunk it? Twisting rope and twine can keep ya from feeling all twisted up inside....and WOW...does it ever!!  I just finished a really cute Bohemian inspired macrame bracelet that probably could easily jump over to my mermaid inspired work. I used a tree of life charm as the focal point on this one and wove some of my aquamarine pieces into the branches. Matter of fact, all of the beads on this piece are aquamarine with the exception of one. I love using this precious stone. Did you know that aquamarine is the birthstone for March? Now ya do!! The Bohemian inspiration is the tree of life along with what some believe wearing aquamarine can bring. It can bring a clear mind which aides in perception and the ability to make decisions with confidence. The mermaid side of this stone is like the endless wash of waves on the shore bringing to mind the sounds and smells of the sea. This always reminds us to stop and enjoy the beauty that is all around us.

The star bead in the middle is the only one that is not in the aquamarine family.

I used my twisted knot closure on this piece. It holds strong from being worn and that's important to me. It can fit a small wrist up to a larger one. Know anyone that is having a birthday this month? Wouldn't they just love to receive a special one of a kind bracelet?

I'm working on a mermaid inspired one now. It will be done with black cording, pearls, charms, natural shells and one of my mermaid clay charms. I'm just so relaxed right now and loving what I'm doing today. How about YOU? What are you working on? I hope it's something that takes you away from the everyday and let's your imagination soar.

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi

In like a lion..out like a lamb...Happy MARCH!!

Can ya believe that March is already here? I have heard of time flying but this is CRAZY people..CRAZY!!!
The Chazman and I took all the February decorations off of the tree last night so that we can put up the St Patrick and Easter ones for this month. Of course ya know I will post photos as soon as we get it all done.

How do you like my updated page? I'm enjoying changing that each month too. I so adore "The Cutest Blog on the Block" site...so many great backgrounds and extras. That's where I got the falling hearts last month and the falling Easter eggs for this month. AWESOMENESS...I know...I know!! Go on over and take a look around. I'm sure you will find something you like love!!

Yesterday my studio was filled with several of my muses. I LOVE my muses but they can really run me over if I'm not careful...hehe  They whisper....I listen...I design and yesterday....well....I kept designing. ^_^

Faerie inspired bronze 18 inch necklace with a 2 inch adapter. A Swarovski crystal hangs from the adapter. The medallion has faux diamonds (ya didn't think the faeries were going to give away their real diamonds did ya? hehe). Hanging from the medallion is an aged bronze ball charm with tiny bronze beads and more of the pretty Swarovski crystals.

Faerie inspired Dragon necklace. Silver dragon charm hanging on a black 24 inch hemp rope. I used a silver toggle clasp with this piece and added some of my twisted knot macrame to match the dragon egg. She is carrying ...yes..it's a she...she told me so ^_^ one of her dragon eggs. I love these beads...made from quartz and in the agate family. (Quartz is a wonderful healing stone if you need some extra "Balance" in your life.) On either side of the egg are glazed glass beads.

Mermaid inspired memory bracelet with green hued glass beads and one of my clay turtle charms and tiny glass vials filled with some of our beach sand and some tiny sea glass pieces. Sadly, we don't have sea glass here :( but a friend on the Pacific coast side sends me some from time to time. Oh wait..dang it...I should have told ya a mermaid brings it to me from her travels. Yeah, that's where I get it from. ^_^

My Bohemian muse decided to jump in too. (see...I told ya that my studio was filled with muses) Beautiful earrings for the beautiful YOU!! Bronze fish hook earrings with bronze safety back stoppers. Tiny bronze beads with Swarovski crystals with a focal bead of  burgundy and swirls of color.

I guess you could say that the Easter bunny hopped in for a moment or two as well to give me some inspiration. I fell in love with these acrylic beads. I don't normally like acrylic beads but these...well just kinda grabbed at me. They look like the hard coated Easter egg candy I use to get in my Easter basket. These are brown with golden highlights running through them. Add the foiled green brown glass beads and PRESTO, you have Chocolate and Mint earrings..hehe!! I used the bronze fish hook earrings with the bronze safety back stoppers and put tiny brown glass beads between the two main beads.

My little Faeries were the dominant ones in the studio (obvisiouly) and I'm very thankful for their inspiration and guidance. This lovelies are hung on sterling silver fish hook earrings with rubber safety back stoppers. Amber colored glass hearts twisted with silver wire give it that faerie appeal. Hanging from the heart is a tiny round amber bead twisted with silver wire and a small three strand of my vintage pearls.

All of these pieces can be found in my Etsy shop and remember I have FREE shipping. Yes...I said FREE!!

Until next time..........Hugs,
Regi

Busy busy lil bee...that's ME!!!

Happy Monday to all!!! We are experiencing dark skies and rainy weather here today. I have to say thank you to Mother Nature though as she stopped long enough this morning for the Chazman and I to walk to school. She must have needed a laugh because she let me get all the way to my back gate and then dropped a bucket of rain on me head...hehe!!! At least she kept my lil man dry. He still is not feeling great but went to school...fingers crossed that he last all day. (the nurse has called once already but said to let him stay until at least 11:30 so the absence wouldn't be counted against him....double fingers crossed)

Yesterday he wanted to get out in the sunshine (yes..there was real sunshine yesterday...just not today) so we took a short beach walk. It was around noon so I really didn't think we would find many shells. BOY..was I wrong. We found some great shells. Inspiration was flying everywhere....for reals!!! We were greeted by one of the locals, Hank. He flew ahead of us to lead the way. Oh yeah..for those that don't know...Hank is one of the local Herons that LOVES to have his photo taken.

We of course followed him...I mean it would be rather rude if we hadn't. I sure am glad we did because he lead us to the shell honey pot.

Just look at all those shells. Hank was doing the "Happy Joy Joy" dance for us...hehe!! We thanked him and off he flew to go and lead others to the oceans treasures washed ashore.........that or he flew over to the ones fishing not to far down....hoping he could grab a snack. ^_^

Purty...aren't they? I just adore shells...really I do!! I even love the broken ones. There was quiet the assortment yesterday to be picked up. Twisted ones, fan shaped, spirals and even some mermaid scales.
I already see some sea dragons coming out of the spiral ones and some mermaids laying on the fan ones. I so LOVE our Salty Life!!

After the beach we headed back home and I started twisting again. Is there a macrame annoynomas? I might need to find a local support group. It's addicting....very addicting. Here's the latest Bohemian bracelet...I'm calling it "Pansy and Pearls". Why you ask? Ohh go on and ask!!  Well...it's because it has a metal pansy and vintage pearls on it. HAHA

I'm making all my bracelets to fit a small wrist up to a larger wrist. If you have the smaller wrist then you can cut the end knots and retie them. I have a larger wrist and so hate when I can't find a bracelet to fit so that's why I'm trying to make these for just about everyone's wrist size. Hey...I LUV ya all....really I do!!!

After finishing up the bracelet, I decided to make some of my mermaid head clay beads...which was a good thing because I had not baked the four little turtle charms from the other day. I still have to add the embellishments to these but here's a WIP photo.

Now...while those were baking I started on a new twisted square knot bracelet. I used white cording as the middle piece and white hemp rope as the tie pieces. It's going to have a dragon charm on it with a dangle of pearls and a dragon egg bead. (dragon egg beads are made from quartz)

I'm going to get this finished up today (in between doing laundry) and then start on a mermaid inspired bracelet. Like I said....I might need a MA (macrame annoynomas) support group!!  ^_^

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi

Some one catch Father time...ppplease ^_^

Father Time is suppose to be an old guy....ri iiight?? I think someone forgot to tell him that, seriously!! Someone really needs to catch him and nail his robe down for awhile. ^_^  Pppplease!!!

I need to ask for your forgiveness AGAIN for not having posted all week. The Chazman is sick yet again. This kiddo is normally healthy as a horse but this school year has just really taken a toll on him. He was home Monday with what we thought was just his sinus issues (which can be bad, I know) and a small fever. He went to school Tuesday and Wednesday. Got up yesterday feeling horrible and couldn't swallow so to the doctor we went and he has strep. Feeling a bit of a sore throat myself today BUT I am woman..hear... me ummmm....meoww.....hehe.

Since I have been sitting with the Chazman most of the week (yes..he wanted his mommie close by...all the time) I have been twisting some rope. I twisted four bracelets that I also needed to complete by adding other embellishments to them. I  have finished  with two of them and here they are:

The first one I call "The Black Rose" (hmmmm...wonder how I came up with that name...hehe) I twisted two separate twisted square knot bracelets and then sewed the wooden beads between them. I used my twisted square knot closure on the back so that it can be adjusted to fit a small wrist or a larger wrist. I want to make sure that just about anyone can wear and enjoy my jewelry pieces.

The second one is one of my unisex Bohemian bracelets. This would look great on male or female. I used a washer as the center focus piece and then did the twisted square knot in a few variations. The closure on this one goes in the front. This bracelet wraps around your wrist with the Celtic cross hanging in the front. It really looks great on. Again, it is adjustable to a small or larger wrist.

Both are listed in my Etsy shop and I even have FREE shipping for the 48 states. If you live else where I will gladly ship to you...just convo me before you purchase so that I can get the best and least expensive shipping cost for you.

Now....to finish the other two bracelets so that I can twist somemore. It's going to be a weekend at home since the Chazman isn't well so hopefully I can get a few more made.

Until next time...........Hugs,
Regi

I'm so twisted...hehe

Hope everyone is having an AWESOME Saturday. I am so hooked on macraming at the moment that I literally feel TWISTED!!! That's a good thing though...I so need something to keep me distracted and this is doing it.

I made another feminine Bohemian macrame bracelet yesterday and did some bead work on it as well. I used some of my white cording and some pretty green yarn with flecks of green and blue in it to do the twisted square knot with.  Now most would not think of using yarn in macrame but I have been doing it for years. I think it adds to the pieces it is used in...what do you think?

You can wear this with the heart facing the top of your hand or you can wear it in the other direction. Either way looks quite lovely. There are two Swarovski crystals on the sides of the heart. They look so pretty when the light hits them. I strung clear glass beads to wrap along the twist of the bracelet.

I told ya'll in yesterday's post that I was going to make some of my turtle charms. I used one for a simple necklace which I added a piece of polished sea glass as well. It's on a bronze 18 inch chain with a lobster clasp. I also added 4 additional inches so that you can make it longer if you wish. A tiny bronze shell is attached to the attachment chain. (hehe....don't know why but that just sounds funny to me...to much caffeine perhaps?)

I'm going to be working on some more twisting this weekend....I just can't get enough!! I'm also going to work on some molds so that I can make more unique clay charms. I have my mermaid soul flowing pass and she is wanting to play too. The more the merrier I always say.

Until next time..........Hugs,
Regi

Ohhhh do you remember the post where I offered a friendship bracelet to the 5th comment? Well...I didn't get 5 commenting so I chose the first person (which I will always do during the year when I offer these gifts and don't get the required number of post) The winner was Nicole and she had 3 options to choose from...my three latest macrame bracelets. She chose the "Mother Earth" bracelet and I will be mailing it out to her on Monday. Thank you Nicole for always showing the love!!!!

Bohemian soul has taken over!!

Good Morning!! I hope that everyone has had a great morning so far. Our weather is a bit breezy for this time of year (45) but no complaining because the sun is out...the birds are singing...the squirrels are a chattering and Gabie and Pumpkin are doing their best to see it all...hehe

Now that I'm not working on little monsters my Bohemian soul has decided that she wants to come out and play. I'm so happy that she did!! I have been working on some of my macrame designed jewelry and am so loving the creative juices flowing through me. It's perfect therapy for me right now and I'm blessed and thankful that I have a muse that guides me...especially when I need her the most. Now...what were we talkin about? Ohhh yes (hehe) jewelry. I found one of my MANY unpacked boxes and when I opened it LOW AND BEHOLD there was some of my macrame cording and hemp. I was actually looking for something else but I feel that I was lead to this particular box so I took advantage of it. Which means I stopped looking for the original box and brought this one inside instead. I have always liked making the twisted square knot. It's a simple knot but one that can be made to look manly or very feminine. My first bracelet took to the very feminine side.

I used some of the deep red cording that has a small bit of deep purple running through it. Did the twisted square knot of course. I had these pretty charms just sitting and waiting for the right piece and this piece was it. A pretty bronze rose is the center piece with tiny bronze beads on both sides of a tiny glass faucet bead. On the left I hung a small dangle of two bronze beads on the sides of a glass black bead and to the right I did a dangle of bronze beads with the glass black beads and a very pretty glass flower bead with the deep red . I made a twisted knot closure so that all you have to do is slip it over your hand and then pull the knotted ends. I covered the closure with some of my ribbon trends....pretty butterfly!!

This piece was calling for a bit smaller feminine touch.  I used some of the light yellow (almost looks beige) roping for the center cord and some of my small hemp rope for the twisted square knots. They always twist so pretty when the center cording is thicker. Don't ya think so too? ^_^   I put the dangles on the side of this piece...some bronze glass beads along with some very pretty hues of green glass beads. Simple yet pretty!!

Today I'm working on making some of my turtle charms that I'm going to need to make a few bracelets with. I love our sea turtles here and love using them with my pieces.

So what are YOU working on? I love to read my comments about what's going on in your art work, so please take a moment and let us know. You might end up being someone's muse and give them some inspiration. I know I sure hope that I am doing that!!

Until next time.............Hugs,
Regi

It's Angel Program time!!

Good Morning my sweet friends!! Ahhhhhh....the smell of French Vanilla Coffee. There's nothing any better. WHOAAA...hold up....I have to confess...that's a lie cause there is something better...the TASTE of French Vanilla coffee..hehe  Hold on a sec while I go and fix me yet another cup. Would you like one too?

Ok..I'm back and I brought YOU a cup too. Now...let's talk about the title of this post. Most of you that know KNOW me...know (WOW..that's alot of knows....ya know..hehe) that we have had to have some help with Christmas for our Chazman the past two years. We are so blessed to be a part of the Baldwin County Freecycle here. Blessed in that they help us (Angel Program) and even more BLESSED that I can return the giving by using my gift that God gave me....my artist abilities. I love making things for people...especially kiddos!!  It can be a hard task though..not really knowing (there's that word again....perhaps I should change the title to KNOWING..HA) the ages of the children that are being helped. I was told that the ages ranged from 2 to 17 so that's what I'm working with. You're looking at the age 17 aren't you? Well...I'm *cough cough* 54 and I still BELIEVE!! ^_^   I decided that I would start out with the teenagers....the female teenagers first. Here are five of my Bohemian bracelets that I'm donating. So hope they will be liked and worn!!

I'm going to make some of my hemp macrame bracelets for the guys and then some hemp macrame keychains that could go to either.  For the younger kiddos, I have been collecting books. It's amazing that I have found some in what looks like brand new condition. A few of them I am going to make little gloved characters to go with them. That way when they are being read to they can play along. The Chazman always liked to do that. HEY...I'm giving and getting on this project. Love to bring memories back into view!!

I picked these three to do the gloved characters with. There will be a mouse, a bear and a silly old rabbit. I love making my gloved characters...since I use to make them for Chaz and he loved them.....I'm hoping that who ever receives one of these will love them too.

After I work on these then I'm going to make some more of my little snow birdies. I'm thinking of doing the scarves around their necks with the colors of the major universities in the state. What do you think?

Until next time..............Hugs,
Regi

P.S.  Thanks for enjoying a cup of coffee with me this morning ^_^

Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!

OMGOSH...I am dancing all around with joy and glee!!! I have not been able to post since my last post on Tuesday. It was on Tuesday, ri iight? Yes..I think it was. Whatever.....I can post now...YEA!!  For some unknown reason my blog didn't want to be bothered apparently. That or my muse had some plan to keep me from posting so that I would continue to keep working on my jewelry and Santa piece. NOW..that I would believe...little minx!!! Ha

Let me catch you up with just what I have been working on since Tuesday. Let's start with my jewelry pieces, shall we.

I knew it was going to happen eventually.....two of my muse's souls were going to come out and play at the same time. This piece is evidence of that. Mermaid meets Bohemian.

Here's one of my keepsake necklaces. One that pulls the Gulf of Mexico into the Atlantic. Well...the two oceans don't really come together but this pieces holds a treasure from each. The tiny vial holds sand and a shell from one of our beach walkabouts and the pretty piece of glass is a piece of sea glass a friend sent me from Oregon.

Another keepsake necklace but this one has a very pretty piece of crackled quartz. The tiny vial holds some of our sand along with tiny pieces of sea glass. The little turtle charm is one of my handmade clay ones that I covered with German glass to make it look like the little guy was crawling in the sand. Love our turtles!!!

It seems I have a little bit of pirate in me soul too. Arrgg maties...ready to wear a lucky skull? It is lucky...well..for YOU it will be. I guess it wasn't so much so for this ancient pirate. I'm loving using my tiny vials with some of our sand enclosed in them. Of course, I had to put a stone with this fella...a black onyx!!

I've been working on a new Santa piece these past few days too. Isn't he handsome? Say yes...Santa is listening!! ^_^  This piece is going to have Santa with a few of his elves. Apparently one of them said something that Santa found quiet amusing.

I just finished his hands a little bit ago. I'm hoping to get them baked tonight so I can start on his armature. I really like taking WIP photos. I get to show you what I'm working on AND it gives me a chance to see them in a different perspective. I see some areas I need to work on before they are baked. Mrs. Claus will be very happy that Santa has his wedding ring on. (I forgot to put one on the last one....I bet one of the elves had it)

I am so happy that I finally was able to post and share with you. I miss ya'll when I can't talked to ya'll. Now, go and have an awesome weekend. Mine will be spent at home since the Chazman isn't feeling very good. Poor baby....bad cold!!

Until next time...........HUGS,
Regi
