Even Monsters like Stories....

Eyes peeking out over the top of the covers....Owwwww....the closet door isn't shut all the way. "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please come and shut my closet door, it's open. Mommie came right in....closed the closet door and kissed her little man on top of the head. A few minutes later, "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please come and look under my bed, I'm sure there's a monster under there. Mommie came right in....bent down and looked under the bed. No monsters that she could see. She kissed little man's head and said a sweet Good-nite. Eyes peeking out from under the covers and ears listening so hard. "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please please come look again...I know there's a monster under my bed. Mommie came right in but instead of looking under the bed again, she walked over to the bookshelf and pulled out a book. She handed her little man the book...turned on his bedside lamp and sat on the side of the bed and said, My dear little one, there is nothing to fret, for even monsters like stories I am willing to bet. If you hear him again simple open your book and read him a story and lull him to sleep. With a kiss and a hug mommie said as she left.....Sweet dreams my little man and say your prayers and remember even monsters like to have stories read.

The Chazman's doodle snack bag for the week. He informed me this morning that he could use one for a whole week. He would take good care of it. He promised. My sweet little man.

Anyone that knows me or follows my blog knows that I am wanting to write children stories. I think that I have finally figured out just what kind. Short stories that will help with their imaginations. The title of the series, "The Paper Bag Tales". Simple books with quirky illustrations and ones that only we may read but it's something that my heart really wants to do.

Until next time.....Hugs,
Regi

The end of a good day....

Today was a very good day all around. My studio time was well spent and so much was accomplished. If you have been reading my post then you know that I made more of the weebies...ornaments this time. Also, Santa got his beard, hair and glasses completed today....that made Mrs.Claus very happy. I think she was getting tired of not seeing her jolly ole elf as well, himself. I'm hoping tomorrow will be spent putting this piece all together.

While working in my studio today, I heard that little voice chirp "You've got mail" and much to my surprise it was from a friend that I have been talking to online for about two years now. She has been such a wonderful friend, always there to listen and give some wonderful advice. She wrote that she was going to be coming to Tallassee today to speak at one of the churches and wanted us to meet. I was so excited. This friend is one of the strongest Christian women I know. She doesn't boast that she is....she doesn't have to.....her faith and how she lives tells you....her joy and her love for others speak with a heart so full that you know she is acting on HIS behalf and her "stories" all her wonderful stories, tell you that she lives for Christ.  Her name is Jackie Orvatez and she finally put all those wonderful stories in a book. "Jesus, A Yankee, A Rebel and a Harley".   I think now that my studio work is done for the day....the house is quiet and still....it's a good time to go read. Sweet dreams, Regi

9/11 a day to NEVER forget....

Today is a day that most Americans reflect on with so many different emotions. I think a part of each one of us died on that day. I didn't know anyone personally in the towers but my heart ached for those that lost their lives that day as if I did. I think that horrible event made all of us connected. There were no strangers amongst us. People reaching out to help in what ever way they could....a city of heroes emerged. To the families that lives were changed forever on that day I send my thoughts and prayers, my hopes and longings that one day they will find peace in their lives. I know that they will never forget and I know the pain and loss will be with them always but I hope they know that they will never be alone. May today's memories of that day eight years ago not only remind us of the lives lost but of the Unity of a Nation that was reestablished...that we are not strangers to one another but connected and we should not let that connection be broken....that WE all stand side by side, eyes looking upward..not at what could bring us down but what could lift us up!!!!

A moment of silence, remembrance and pray to send to all the ones lost that day, to all the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, spouses and children left behind, to all the ones that didn't give up the search and to those that continue to keep our FREEdom free. May WE always REMEMBER 9/11. God Bless us and keep us and always walk beside us.

Changes...changes

I can not believe that I let so much time go by without a post. Well, actually I can...LOL!!! It has been one wild ride around this homestead the past few weeks...almost like a whirlwind swooshed in and decided to stay awhile. We lost some wonderful friends this past weekend...ohhh noooo...not that anything happened to them...they are just moving on with their adventures in this life. Alot of packing, cleaning and just listening seemed to whirl pass so fast to get them ready. A new job took them to another state and a beautiful, tiny babygirl has been added to their family. They already had a smart and very energetic son so with the two I'm sure their lives are going to be so full of wonderful tales to tell us old friends when we see each other again. We will miss them, never forget them and feel blessed always that they touched our hearts if even for a short time.

As these neighbors were moving away, new ones moved in right next door. A mom and two beautiful teenage girls. Thank the good Lord that Chaz is still a wee one and girls...well...they aren't high on his list right now...LOL!!! I'm sure we will have a great time getting to know one another as time goes by. Changes...changes....new adventures...isn't life grand!!!!

That nasty old flu bug has come and gone TWICE to poor lil Chaz in the past few weeks...that or it just didn't fully let go the first time. I hope that everyone is taking precautions against it...it is not something to mess around with and with fall just around the corner (well for us Southerners anyways...I know for others, it's already here) this is only just the beginning of this nasty lil critter making it's way into our homes.

Chaz is back at school today...YEAH...and was so excited about feeling better and getting to go. I really LOVE his teacher he has this year. You can really tell the "seasoned" teachers from the ones just starting out. She really keeps the children's interest and that keeps them wanting to come and learn each day. For us parents....she is just as great. She sends home a lesson plan for the week....which I was very thankful for with Chaz home fighting this flu. We knew what to study and do to keep him up to date. This is a great First grade adventure!!!!

Since things are back to normal (let's keep fingers crossed for just a day or two longer) I'm back working in my studio. "G is for Ghost" is the current ooaks in progress. I hope to have her completed this week....photos soon...if she will "show" up for them....LOL!!!!!!! SO many ooaks planned....just doesn't seem to ever be enough time in the day.

Hugs to all, Regi
