Busy Busy Busy!!

I hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!! I know that we did. It's always fun to go visit family but it's always good to come back home too. The Chazman was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday and claimed this morning that he was coming home from school, eating a snack, doing his homework and going to bed. HA!!! Like that will EVER happen. What WILL happen is that he WILL come in and get a snack and he WILL do his homework but instead of going to bed he WILL play a PS3 game. That's what will happen...I can gairruntee it!! (yes yes I know I spelled guarantee wrong...you have to say it like it's spelled then it will sound like Troy from Swamp people..hehe)

I have been doing laundry and working on....Can you guess what? Yes a Santa. How in the world did ya know? HAHA  It feels like I have been working on these forever but that's alright...I really like it!! It's nice taking a break here and there from working on them. Today the break time is laundry and tomorrow it will be putting up our Christmas decorations. That might turn into a very longgg break..hehe!!

So...here's my messy table filled with SANTA..hehe

Until next time..........Hugs,
Regi

Psssttt.....I have been working on a pencil/pen drawing too. I need to practice on human characters but I think my niece will like this. She is getting married Dec 15th and sent me two invitations instead of one, so I figured she was "hinting" at me. ^_^  I did the drawing on vellum and I placed it over the invitation. Do you think she will like it? I pulled up a photo of them and then started drawing. I hope so but shhhhhhhhhh....she NEVER reads my blog so I don't know why I'm shhhushing you but just in case...Don't tell..it's a secret!!

Don't they make the cutest couple? YES, they do is your answer..hehe

Back to normal...well..as normal as I can be ^_^

Ahhhhh....it's a New Year!! Want me to tell your future? Do you really want to know? Nahhhh....I can't really tell you and I'm sure you really don't want to know. To me.....that's part of the amazing part of our life's adventures...the not knowing. Where would the fun or the adventure be if we knew...hehe. I'm just happy that with the holidays coming to a close that my adventures can get back to a bit of normalcy...well...as normal as my world can be. ^_^

The Chazman and I have been sitting and doodling some with his cousins in mind. He loves to be a part of my designs and when that can happen...I LOVE it. So blessed that my lil guy has a tiny muse sitting on his shoulder too. I still have to make gifts for the ones that we won't get to see until sometime later in the year...they wanted us to bring them to them so we could see them open them. Just have to love a loving family filled with kiddos. Chaz thought that his boy cousins would love some monsters to play with...so monsters it is. (He knew that was what I was planning but it's so soo AWESOME that he sat and drew out a pattern for me to follow) He drew the bodies and I added the faces. They will be made with crazy fabrics or faux fur or felt or perhaps a bit of it all.
The first one is a monster that will have twisted ears (Chaz wasn't sure how to draw them so he told me..hehe) and a furry tongue sticking out. The second top one is a Bearster...yep...that's a monster and bear combined. He will have long arms so he can give great big bear hugs. My Chazman is sooo cute!! Of course, he said that there needed to be a "crazy" dust bunny. I'm thinking of making him with a dry corn bottom and then making a few cotton bags (or carrots....HEY...even a monster dust bunny has to eat) to go with him so he can play. Then there is the Batty monster...need I say more. The last lil monster is a fire monster....a real HOT HEAD for sure. I think with this great assortment of monsters....there will be some happy cousins.

Until next time....HUGS, Regi (and the Chazman)

Even Monsters like Stories....

Eyes peeking out over the top of the covers....Owwwww....the closet door isn't shut all the way. "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please come and shut my closet door, it's open. Mommie came right in....closed the closet door and kissed her little man on top of the head. A few minutes later, "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please come and look under my bed, I'm sure there's a monster under there. Mommie came right in....bent down and looked under the bed. No monsters that she could see. She kissed little man's head and said a sweet Good-nite. Eyes peeking out from under the covers and ears listening so hard. "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please please come look again...I know there's a monster under my bed. Mommie came right in but instead of looking under the bed again, she walked over to the bookshelf and pulled out a book. She handed her little man the book...turned on his bedside lamp and sat on the side of the bed and said, My dear little one, there is nothing to fret, for even monsters like stories I am willing to bet. If you hear him again simple open your book and read him a story and lull him to sleep. With a kiss and a hug mommie said as she left.....Sweet dreams my little man and say your prayers and remember even monsters like to have stories read.

The Chazman's doodle snack bag for the week. He informed me this morning that he could use one for a whole week. He would take good care of it. He promised. My sweet little man.

Anyone that knows me or follows my blog knows that I am wanting to write children stories. I think that I have finally figured out just what kind. Short stories that will help with their imaginations. The title of the series, "The Paper Bag Tales". Simple books with quirky illustrations and ones that only we may read but it's something that my heart really wants to do.

Until next time.....Hugs,
Regi

Thank you by watercolors

This watercolor is for all that follow into my whimsical world. Those that come for just one visit....those that come for several visits....those that come each day....and to those that always leave me inspiration with your kind words. To all I wanted to say "Thank you" for stepping into my world. You are always invited and welcomed!!!

Not wordless today....

These are the kind of days that I really, really, really DO NOT LIKE!!!!! Did I mention REALLY? I have been working so hard on my mermaid...had her just like I wanted her.....put her in to bake and "POOF" out came one
burnt mermaid. WHAAAAAAA!!! To top that off I picked her up....before I let her cool off enough apparently...ouch ouch ouch...and dropped her. Now there is one lil burnt very, very broken mermaid in the garbage and one grown woman getting up off the floor and wiping her tears. In all my years of working with clay I have only "gulp" burnt two pieces so I guess I should feel very fortunate about that at least. Now, it's time to start another one and believe me I'm going to be checking every 2 seconds on this one during the curing process.

I did want to mention today that I am having a sale in my Esty shoppe. I hope that you will wander on over and have a looksie.  http://regiooaksartist.etsy.com

Time to jump back over to the clay and let my muse fuss a bit about the mishap and then start all over. Ohhh, the joys of having a very over active imagination. Where is yours taking you today?

Hugs,
Regi

Manic Monday!!!

Today is a Monday, that's for sure. I have to keep a calendar and check off each day to remember just what day it actually is BUT for some reason I always know when it's MONDAY!!! Certain feelings come with Mondays.....feelings of it's a new week....things must be done...completed or in some cases begun. In my case, this is my last Monday to be in this home so I must get things done. Yes...I'm still packing, packing and packing some more. It seems somewhere along this adventure in packing I have caught a terrible cold or crud or perhaps both combined. It's not stopping me but it sure has s-l-o-w-e-d- me down. It does help to know that at the end of this week, the Chazman and I will be reunited with the hubbikins/daddikins and beginning our new adventure in a new place.

With all these feelings and thoughts my doodling went in a direction of trying to capture how I am feeling on this Manic Monday. Tell me....am I screaming because of a drippy nose and packing OR am I singing due to all the excitement of living in a new place. I think maybe both.....until next time....HUGS!!!!!!!!!    REGI
