New Years gift for teacher!!!

Well well well.....the Chazman comes home from school yesterday smiling up a storm. I mean I could see his big smile as soon as he walked through the back gate. OMGOSH.....yes, he is growing up...he walks home by himself in the afternoon..if it's not raining. I go up to the school with an umbrella if it is. ^_^ Yes I spoil him to the max!! Now, what were we talking about....oh yes, his big smile. It was from....well....you will never guess. Nooo...I'm telling you that you will NEVER guess from what. OK...go ahead...give it your best shot...guess. Still thinking...well....STOP and I will tell you what that huge smile was from. Not saying that you aren't smart enough or quirky enough (hehe) to figure it out on your own.. You just won't and I didn't guess right either when he asked me to guess what he was holding behind his back in his hands. I'm sure those of you that have boys or experience with 10 year boys knows that it could have been ANYTHING!!

The Chazman first tells me (before he will show me what he is holding) that Mr Hoffman had some awesome prizes he let them bid on. You see...he gives the kiddos tickets when they do good on their assignments, homework, projects or just because they were quiet when he needed them to be. It's a class of 4th graders remember. HAHA!! Normally the items are in a box and marked with how many tickets it will take to have it BUT this time he did a bidding on some of the cooler ones (Chazman's words). Chaz has been saving his tickets so he was ready when the bidding war began. He had to use 9 of his tickets to get it but he got it. The item was a bookmark. Yeah...I know you are sitting there laughing but you don't know just what kind of bookmark it was. Are you ready for this? Are you sure? It is a bookmark made from POOPOO. Yes, you read that right, POOPOO...elephant POOPOO in fact. Ohhhh, I kid you not...just look

There is NO smell or odor and I have to admit that it is pretty COOL!! I had never heard of anyone making bookmarks out of animal POOPOO but after I looked it up...well....it makes perfect sense. It's made by the POOPOO Paper company, of course, why not!!!! Chaz is thrilled that he has a unique and awesomely cool bookmark and that's what counts.

He also informed me while we were reading about the POOPOO (hehe) that he didn't take Mr Hoffman a Christmas gift and he really wanted to give him something to let him know he really enjoyed his class. He made learning FUN. He said that Mr Hoffman is an Alabama fan so he wanted me to make one of my little elephant desk sitters. So I did!!!

I even made a houndstooth print paper box for the elephant to go in. I mean if he is a BAMA fan then let's go all out.. ri iight?

It's not a late Christmas gift but a Happy New Year gift. Chaz was excited to take it to him this morning. I'm glad I could make something for him to take. Handmade is something from the heart and a teacher like Mr. H deserves something special. I mean really...how many teachers do you know that buy POOPOO!!!!

Until next time............Hugs,
Regi

It's a MONDAY!!

Life here lately has been one heck of a roller coaster ride....I must say. Not that I'm complaining because along the way there have been some doors opened that I have gladly stepped through. One of which is my new weekend job. Cleaning condos at the beach......talk about being in my element!! I bet you thought I was talking about being at the beach....didn't you? Go ahead and admit it...you did...HAHA!! I actually meant the cleaning part believe it or not. I LOVE to clean...and to clean and get PAID for it.....well...that makes it even better...so much better. My little sidekick went with me this Saturday and WOW...he was a huge help. I told him when he helps me that he will get paid too. He liked that idea....liked that idea very much. One of his jobs was to sweep up the sand on the balconies (into the dust pan...not off the balcony...hehe). He even moved any furniture to sweep up under it and put it back in place. Tell me I'm not raising this Southern boy right!!! There was such a great breeze blowing that I let him keep the doors open while he was outside working (didn't tell him...but it was a way to keep my ear out too...I mean...he is a boy...and we all know boys do tend to get a bit curious) All of a sudden he started yelling and I do mean YELLING "Pirates....Pirates, Mom....I see a pirate ship". I ran outside and sure enough....right there.....outside....was an honest to goodness pirate ship. I kid you not. Here...see for yourself.
Awesome...ri iight?? I had no idea that we even had pirate ships sailing the ocean blue here. This 65 ft beauty is called the American Star and it host.......yes...say it....Pirate adventures!!  I want to check into it for the Chazman as they let the kiddos dress up in pirate outfits....learn some pirate lingo (Argg..true pirate lingo maties..not the salty sailor talk..LOL) have a battle and hunt for lost treasure. You will never guess where you ask permission to step aboard is....are you ready....it's called Skull Harbor. Kid you not and just to think that if I wasn't cleaning...we would never have discovered this awesome way to have a new adventure.

Not only am I getting to work on the weekends this summer but I'm working in a place that gives me so much inspiration for my art. Taking a break and getting to stare out the windows at the ocean, the people, the pirate ships..hehe and the seagulls. So much that just let's my imagination soar. I LOVE IT!!

The weekend was a great one but now it's Monday.....so it's time to put some of my inspiration to work and get busy sculpting. Hope YOU have an awesome day and thank you for stopping by to visit matie!!!!!

Until next time.........Hugs,
Regi

Pssst...I have another secret!!!

WOW...I have done something that I normally don't do and that's have several different pieces going on at one time. I really hate to do it because....well...with my muse you never know when I might be enticed into combining some of those pieces together...hehe!! Hopefully she will behave herself while I work on each one idividually!!!!

I am working on some of my weebies/ornies and hope to have them listed in my Etsy shoppe by this weekend. With that being said...here is my secret....for the whole month of August anyone that makes a purchase gets 15% off that item. All you have to do is enter the coupon code 2HOTDAYS at checkout. How easy peasy is that?
Some of the weebies/ornies are some of my Halloween ones and some football ones. Go ALABAMA....GO AUBURN!!! If you have a mascot for a different team you would like made just send me a note and I will see what I can do for you. I do realize that there are other colleges out there...aren't there?

Happy Monday Hugs......Regi

I'm a Soul Monkey Minion!!!

I'm a Soul Monkey Minion...the Chazman is a Soul Monkey Minion...the hubbikins is a Soul Monkey Minion and YOU can be a Minion too!!!! What's a Soul Monkey ya ask? WELL...let me tell ya. It's one of the best bands in our area..HANDS DOWN!!! Their music far reaches any others that I have heard in a long time. This group of rockin and blues souls is not afraid to do songs that most others won't do....others just think they are to hard to sing. (waaahh..big babies) NOT Soul Monkey though....from classic rock like Elton John and the Beatles to classic blues like Eric Clapton and B.B.King....and the transition from one to the other is flawless. There is no way that you can just sit and listen...OHHH NOOOO....you will catch yourself swaying and dancing...no matter who might be watching. (yes..even shy me does it) This group is so versatile that on top of doing classic rock and blues....they even will throw in a few modern POP songs, dance music and even a great country ballad or two. Not to mention that two of the guys write music themselves and of course they throw a few of their originals in the mix. These guys should be out touring...for real...I'm not kidding...they are that AWESOME!!! Although I do think they could be making a trip around the world, I'm happy that they stay close to home. They perform at local events here in Foley and the surrounding areas....have a few places they can be found at most weekends when no events are happening and they even play weddings and birthday parties. Just a group of 4 L.A. (that stands for Lower Alabama..hehe) guys that stand out due to their love of music, excellent vocals and the rockin good time they give to all their minions. Give them a listen HERE.

We are very excited that Soul Monkey is going to be playing at one of our local events here in Foley next Saturday, the 19th, at Heritage Park. The Third annual "BBQ and Blues" cook off event. This fantastic, FUN event features some of the local "cooking" talent getting together and showing off their stuff. Yep....part of the name..."BBQ".. good old fashion Southern cooked up just right BBQ. I know there are going to be some finger licking good times. I'm so glad that I'm not a judge...I so wouldn't be able to pick just one. Of course the "Blues" part comes in with the awesome music that is going to be happening during this all day event. Soul Monkey will be hitting the stage around noon and playing until 2. There will be a few other good local performers and I will be listening and enjoying them too but you will only find me swaying and a dancin when I become a Soul Minion. Ohhh weeeee...it's going to be an awesome day my friends. If close by...come and sit a spell....lick those fingers and sway to the music. It starts at 10am and ends at 6pm...Heritage Park located right on the corner of Hwy 59 and 98. Main road through Foley....most know it..it goes directly into Gulf Shores and the beach..HEY..you could make a weekend of it...what could be better than fun, food, music and the beach. The cost is $10 for adults and that means you get to eat as much as you want....honest....really...all you want......for just ten bucks. Where else can ya eat good BBQ all you want for that? Kiddos 10 and under get to eat free...yeppers...I said FREE!!! They soooo don't know the Chazman and BBQ...they gonna be in big trouble...LOL!!!  There will be children activities...chances to win some awesome prizes....a silent auction. I have donated one of my ooaks for the auction. Mimzie and Whikit!! I thought a mermaid would be appropriate since we live so close to the beach. The money will all go back in to the community so I'm very honored and proud that I was asked to participate. Now see....there's another reason to come on down. Bid on Mimzie!!!
I have been looking forward to this event for months and I do mean months. I just love my Soul Monkey...yes..they are mine....all mine...mine mine mine!!!! OK maybe not mine but I do love them. ^_^  OK....snap out of it Regi...get back on track. I have been working on a pin set that I can wear. Noooo...I didn't do a monkey dancing around...although I thought about it. I decided that since it was really all about the BBQ that I would do some of my piggie clay beads. If you are one of my sweet friends that comes to visit often (and I thank you very much from the bottom of my heart) then you know of which piggies I am speaking of. I finally completed the set yesterday...so here it is.
I will be wearing my piggie pin with my piggie earrings and have my hair pulled back with my matching hair barrette and licking my fingers due to all the wonderful piggie ummm I mean BBQ that I will be enjoying. So I shouldn't be to hard to find....LOL!!  So bring a blanket, some chairs. a good appetite and come for a rockin good time and become a minion too.

Until next time..........HUGS, Regi

The Chazman is so EXCITED!!!

The Chazman is so excited that this is going to be a short week at school. Unlike some of the other counties in Alabama where the kiddos have the whole week off, ours have to attend Monday and Tuesday. There don't seem to be any complaints from them...they don't feel like they are missing out. Since we live in a coastal town we have to set aside a day or two here and there in case of bad weather. You know, those mild winds we can get every once in awhile..ok ok not so mild but shhhhh I don't want them to hear me. Plus our kiddos get out on Fat Tuesday for Mardi Gras when most others don't.

Part of his excitement is that tomorrow has been set aside as ALABAMA or auburn day.      Which means that the kiddos get to wear their favorite team shirt or at least the colors of their favorite team. Can you figure out which one the Chazman roots for?  A hint...it's not that little bitty word you can hardly read. I can't type it any bigger because it is considered a very bad word in our household...well according to his daddy anyways. I have to admit that I do root for Au....umm oops, almost typed it, that other team when they aren't playing Alabama. But mums the word...do not tell his daddy. I have to root for them quietly. OK let me get back to my main topic. My lil man is growing by leaps and bounds and I kid you not, I literally mean LEAPS and BOUNDS. Must be something about the fresh salt air because he has outgrown all of his clothes since we moved here in June. I know it's all a part of "growing up" no pun intended but that means we are having to buy clothes a bit at a time and OMGOSH it seems that sweatshirts and even tshirts for college teams are a bit pricey...for us right now anyways. He does have a nice red shirt that he wears for Alabama and since I don't want him to feel left out tomorrow with all the other Alabama fans showing their pride I made him a special pin.

He loves it and that makes me smile....so big!!! He said that it was better than any shirt that just said Alabama on it. I just love this kid...always knows what to say. Thank goodness he loves one of a kind things his mom makes and also doesn't mind being one of a kind himself.

Until next time......ROLL TIDE and WAR EAGLE ummmm I mean...Regi

Great Halloween Weekend....

Halloween has come and gone but oh what a treat it was. Our fun started on Thursday with the Uptown Foley Fall Market and Halloween street trick or treat. For the Halloween trick or treat our town shut down two streets and the shop owners pulled out the tables and games and the kiddos had a real spooktacular time. The Chazman had a totally fun time and man oh man did my lil phathom get the looks. I can't imagine why....can you???

One of the tables set up at the Halloween street party was filled with pumpkins. Carved pumpkins...painted pumpkins and just plain ole cute pumpkins. Anything a pumpkin could be...it was on this table. It seems that some of the folks from the South Baldwin Medical Center held a contest and the winners of that contest were brought to the street party for everyone to judge. I wish I had taken a picture of all of them but after the one we thought should win...well..I saw no need. HA!!! I know...I'm bad and not being fair but wait til you see it.
Not only was it a spectacular pumpkin carving but it tells that story of just where pumpkin pies come from. Are you ready? Do you want to see?   WARNING: This is NOT for the squeamish!!!  Here is is.......
Is this not the most hysterical pumpkin you have ever seen? Look closely up under the potty chair. Yes..yes..the perfect pumpkin pie. Now....I bet you never look at pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving the same way again...EVER!!!!

How was your Halloween? I hope it was a blast. Hope you have candy to last for several months and I hope that no one climbed to many walls from trying to eat all that candy in one sitting!!!

Until Next time........HUGS,

Regi

Whoopsie Oopsie

Poor Whoopsie Oopsie....her name given at birth. It was cast upon her by her older sister Mirth. She loves to concoct her potions and cast a spell or two but poor Whoopsie Oopsie just doesn't know what to do. For every time she mixes a potion and recites the spell to bind, it seems her namesake takes her over and sits her on her behind. Do not fear that she has sat into her cauldron of potion for a little bat is here to put her back in forward motion. A spell she needs to place on Mirth for giving her that awful name so once and for all Whoopsie Oopsie can end this ancient game.

Whoopsie has such a great sense of humor and falling into her cauldron of potion has let the laughter out even more. Little Bat is trying his hardest to pull her free but I don't think that's going to happen. Whoopsie is one of my Halloween Tree toppers. She is of course stuck in a papier mache cauldron that is attached to a black feathered tree. Her face, hands, legs/feet/shoes were hand sculpted out of Living Doll clay...baked and then hand painted using acrylic paints. Her outfit is hand sewn using some wonderful vintage fabrics. The tree and the witch sit at a tad over 15 inches. Whoopsie if standing would be around 6 inches tall.

Without further adue.....here is she is...the newest addition to Southern Ooaks whimsical world...Whoopsie Oopsie the comical witch.

Whoopsie is enjoying being a part of the Southern Ooaks Witchie Coven but she would be happy living with YOU too.

Until next time.....HUGS, Regi

It's Monday???

Why in the world can't the weekend seem to last as long as the week does? I know...I know...the week has 5 days and the weekend only two but it could at least feel longer..Don't ya think??  It's not that we did anything spectacular this weekend. Stuck close to home...of course the hubbikins watched SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS all Saturday. We all know that the best team to watch is ALABAMA. Well......in this house hold it is. The DH is a "you can only pull for one team" kinda guy. I do love Alabama but I also love Auburn. I made the sad mistake of hollaring rooting for them when he was watching the game and OMGOSH you would have thought I slapped him off the sofa. He already turns the sound up so loud that you feel like you are in the stadium when he watches his SPORTS and after that I felt as though I was in a stadium filled to max capacity. I still rooted....more so....just to get at him and Yeah...I would so do something like that.

Sunday afternoon the Chazman wanted to go to the beach. He loves going. He loves the ocean. My lil merman. We found some wonderful treasures that kept being washed up to us as we wadded just where she swept the shore. Look close at one of the shells....on the top row..the photo does not do it justice. It looks opalescent and I so see a baby fae or baby mer laying curled up inside of it.The Chazman liked the first one on the top..said it reminded him of the creature of the Black Lagoon. Where does this kid get his overactive imagination...I will never know.  hehehehehe
The ocean is so calming to me.....I think sometimes that I should have been born of the sea.  Her waves would come roaring in......hit the shore and all your cares just washed away with them as she pulled them back out....never to worry about them again. Well...ok...we do still have our worries but it is nice to escape them from time to time.
I didn't get to work on any of my ooaks this weekend but that's alright..it was a good weekend. I am going to start working on the Halloween feather tree as soon as this post is complete. Here is a WIP pic for you...can you see what the tree topper is going to be? Think witch....cauldron and "Hey...I've fallen and can't get up"

Until next time....HUGS,
Regi

Vanity Voodoo, a Witchie Poo

There is nothing better than coming in from a midnight's flight and taking ones boots off. Awww, my little piglets can breathe. Ow Weeeee....that smell..that smell...that smell of stinky feet....it smells like a warm summer's night heat. Before I remove my hat and shawl...let me go take my mirror down from the wall........

Mirror, mirror in my lap
Answer my lovie, in a snap
Who's the Witchiest of them all
Me, you say....
What a very good call
Now, let's put you
Back upon the wall.....

Vanity Voodoo is one of my ooaks from the Witchie Poo Series. I hope that you have enjoyed her WIP posts up til now. You can go back to some of the achieve post to see her from the beginning. If you have been following and have decided to do your own witch, I would love to see.

Vanity is sitting on a stool cauldron (she is permanently attached to it) Her legs can be gently moved if you so desire.

Vanity is holding a real mirror. How else would she get an answer to her questions. Muahahahahahahaha!!!!

Poor Vanity...holes in her socks. BUT what better way for her to enjoy that smell when she pulls her boots off. Peuuuuu!!!!

Until next time...............Hugs,
Regi

Vanity will be available in my Etsy shoppe. Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even Monsters like Stories....

Eyes peeking out over the top of the covers....Owwwww....the closet door isn't shut all the way. "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please come and shut my closet door, it's open. Mommie came right in....closed the closet door and kissed her little man on top of the head. A few minutes later, "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please come and look under my bed, I'm sure there's a monster under there. Mommie came right in....bent down and looked under the bed. No monsters that she could see. She kissed little man's head and said a sweet Good-nite. Eyes peeking out from under the covers and ears listening so hard. "HEY MOMMIE", the little boy cried. Please please come look again...I know there's a monster under my bed. Mommie came right in but instead of looking under the bed again, she walked over to the bookshelf and pulled out a book. She handed her little man the book...turned on his bedside lamp and sat on the side of the bed and said, My dear little one, there is nothing to fret, for even monsters like stories I am willing to bet. If you hear him again simple open your book and read him a story and lull him to sleep. With a kiss and a hug mommie said as she left.....Sweet dreams my little man and say your prayers and remember even monsters like to have stories read.

The Chazman's doodle snack bag for the week. He informed me this morning that he could use one for a whole week. He would take good care of it. He promised. My sweet little man.

Anyone that knows me or follows my blog knows that I am wanting to write children stories. I think that I have finally figured out just what kind. Short stories that will help with their imaginations. The title of the series, "The Paper Bag Tales". Simple books with quirky illustrations and ones that only we may read but it's something that my heart really wants to do.

Until next time.....Hugs,
Regi

Sale going on it my Etsy Shoppe!!!

Since today was a holiday for us here in the States and the Hubbikins and the Chazman were home....I didn't get to work on Vanity Voodoo. I can sit and do nothing and neither one wants to converse with me BUT let me start to work on something and I can't make either one shhhhhhhhush. Go figure!!!

I did however take some time to go into my Etsy shoppe and put some of my ooaks on sale. It's never to early to start shopping for Christmas presents or for a Santa to sit on the mantel. Maybe there's a birthday around the corner or someone that needs a "just because" gift.  Even if you aren't in need of that one of kind gift at the moment I do hope that you will keep me in mind. It so would not hurt my feelings if just this once you were to pass me around. Well....maybe not me...but my link to my shop. Just click on my Southern Ooaks banner with the roses on the right side bar.

If you haven't been to my shoppe lately, here are some of the ooaks you will find. BEWARE...some of them will capture your heart and pull on those strings.

Any purchase will be GREATLY appreciated and if you send one of your friends to my shoppe and they make a purchase have them let me know who sent them. A special gift will be sent to you.

Until next time.........Hugs,
Regi

Caution..Mature Lookers only!!! ;D

I SEE A HINEY
ALL BRIGHT AND SHINEY

Now calm down....it's not really a hiney....well actually it is...hehehe...it just belongs to Vanity Voodoo. She is my newest ooaks in the Witchie Poo Series that I'm working on. For those just visiting my blog I am doing several WIP posts to show just how I make some of my art dolls. SO make sure you go back a few post to see the beginning of these WIP post.

Owwwww weeeeee..just look at the junk in her trunk. I have always wanted to say that I just never imagined I actually would get to..hehe!!  Since she is a wire armature that is wrapped in yarn I have to fill her out in some areas so that when I make her clothes they will hang right. WOW...wouldn't it be great if we could do that to ourselves...Yes indeedie.....I would be stuffing and unfluffing in several areas here. I will wrap her new hiney with more yarn because with her the yarn is going to act as part of her costume....like underpants.

Of course, we can't forget the TaTa's now can we? After taking the photo I think I might need to make them sag a bit more. She is a voodoo swamp witchie but then again she could have done a spell to raise them. Muahhhhh!!!! There again...wish there really was a spell cause I know this ole gal would be doing some raising of her own. Just sayin!!! I won't be wrapping the TaTa's in yarn since she is going to be wearing a blouse.

I hope that in doing these Vanity WIP posts that it might help someone in making their own ooaks or art doll. If anyone should have any questions regarding making one please do not hesitate to ask anything. I have been making sculpts and dolls for a very, VERY long time and would love to share some of my knowledge. Just keep in mind though....I can not stuff or unfluff humans and I so can not find my book with my spell for the raising of anything!!!!

Until next time.......Hugs,
Regi

One man's junk is now my treasure!!!

Saturday's are my day to get out of the house for a bit. Now keep in mind that I love to work in my studio during the week but it is nice to get outside....feel the breeze...ok ok when there is a breeze...and wonder around the city to see just what others are peddling. Peddling as in yard sales, garage sales, estate sales  and flea markets. The Chazman always seems to do the best amongst the three of us and he always has...even as a wee three month old. He learned at a very early age that his baby blues and angel face could and would get him alot. He came home with a big Wal-mart bag full of goodies and only spent about $2.75. I was very lucky to find some treasures of my very own today. Most will be combined into ooaks, of course!!

Maybe a few will remain with me as in the beautiful linen napkin with the initial "M" on it and the cute lil Bearalicious Ice cream Bear. I collect Bears and have for many years and the more unusual it is....well...the more I love it. Yes..yes..I know...I am UNUSUAL....but that's a good thing, riii iiight??  The cute drink trivets will remain with me to. One day I WILL TEACH my menfolk not to sit the drink on the pretty little dollie but on the drink trivet that is even closer to them than the pretty little dollie.  I had to really rummage through some boxes to find a large zip lock bag full of all kinds of doll hair and a tiny bag filled with BRIGHT pink feathers. I feel in love with the base that has the wires coming out of it. You know that won't stay together for long as I see weebies holding up a wire with a note attached. (the cute lil baby was in some of the things the Chazman got so he gave her to me...he is always giving me lil gifts...such a sweetheart) The wooden bench, I can see two (not designed yet) ooaks from my Olde Folks series sitting on. The big pocket watch is my biggest treasure of the day. I designed an old watch maker several years ago and have been wanting to sculpt him but just couldn't come up with the right base. I do believe I have found it, don't you?

It was a very good morning. There really was a nice pleasant breeze blowing and there were treasures all around. Have you ever found a treasure amongst the junk? Share....tell us about it. I know we would all love to hear or at least reads about it. This afternoon we are going on a different treasure hunt.....treasures washed up from the sea. Our weekly beach walk. Hope you have a fun afternoon planned.

Until next time....Hugs,
Regi

TGIF for Southern Coastal Cooking!!!

Now some might say that going to a Redneck Dive would be a bad thing BUT let me reassure you that this is SOOOOOO not the case with this Funky Junky place. When driving down Highway 59 in Foley, right in the middle of Uptown, next to Wal-greens, there it sits. Thought I would start off with the directions just so ya don't miss it. It would be a cryin shame if ya did!!!!!

Fish River Grill #2 is one of the best places to eat in Foley (the original one is located in Fairhope, AL) of course we have a lot of great eating establishments and I'm not taking anything away from any of them. It's just that to me when you walk into a place and are greeted by folks that make ya feel as though you just walked in the old family homestead for a meal, well it just goes without saying, it's the place to be.

The Fish River Grill's Hurricane Hamburger was voted the BEST in Baldwin county and we all know that there is "the best" and then as my Chazman would say, there is "the BESTEST", which this burger surely is. It's just one of the great items found at this funky junky  place. My favorite has to be the all you can eat each and every day...yes I said ALL YOU CAN EAT EVERYDAY fried catfish. Yum yum yummmmm, it's so good it might make ya slap your momma...but I wouldn't do that...she might slap ya back or ya might tell her I said to do it and she would be slapping me. (hehe)  I'm one of the true GRITS (girl raised in the South) so I know good home cooked fried catfish when I eat it. They cook it when ya order it and let's just say...with the pile they bring ya the first time, I doubt that you would be eatin a second helping but of course they will keep it coming if ya can. Not only do you get the catfish but you also get crinkle fries, fried okra, coleslaw and some of the best hushpuppies around. The grill has a special entree that comes with your meal too. It's called Swamp Soup and talk about something belly warming. It's fantastic. It comes in a small cup...HEY...ya don't want to ruin your appetite for that all you can eat fish now do ya?  The Chazman would not eat greens of any kind...no..can't make him...he wouldn't do it....couldn't pay him enough to even try em WELL that was until he ate the Swamp Soup (yes...you guessed, it has greens in it and tons of other good for ya stuff)  Not only do they have the catfish all you can eat they have fried shrimp all you can eat too. So many good items on their menu...just try em...you'll see. They have daily lunch specials too which include the swamp soup and a dessert. Just a great funky junky Redneck dive that will make anyone proud to say....I'm a redneck!!!

Oh yeah.....they have live entertainment too. We are blessed to have some very talented local artist (folks that play guitar and sing) in our area. Diana will even ask if it's to loud....she is one of the sweetest folks and she has some of the BESTEST folks working there too. Always smiling and talking and making sure that everything is just as you want it. Why in the world would someone not want to eat at Fish River Grill? Oh yeah...I'm not the only one that loves the place either....check out Urbanspoon and see what others have to say.

Until next time.....

I LOVE the color red....could be because it symbols LOVE or that it's such a Firey color that just gets your blood boiling (that gypsy soul coming out) and of course it's also one of the colors of my favorite college team...ALABAMA!!!! Which ever it invokes in you I hope you enjoy seeing my latest piece in the Gypsy collection.

Hooters!!!! Well....kinda...it's aSteampunk Owl!!

Well, I have done it again....put up a title just to see who comes a visiting because they so thought it meant something else...LOL!!! I didn't fib about what this post was about...no no I didn't. Although, it isn't about "HooterS" it's about one Hooter. My Lil Steampunk Owl...Hooter!!!

While I was going through my watch pieces today to see what other pins I could make I started to see this lil guy emerge. I know that my muse had a good bit to do with it because I was just hap hazardly laying pieces off to the side. When I looked over at the ones I had already picked out I noticed the lil head and horned ears. Do you see them? Hooter's head is cocked to one side...as though he is checking us out. Two eyes and a lil nose....and even a tail hanging down.

I'm having so much fun making my jewelry pieces. Wouldn't they make a most excellent gift for that someone special? I have more I'm working on so please check back in with me. I'm working on a Cat Lovers necklace and I think so far it's turning out just purrrrrfect!!!! As always, thank you for stopping by today and until next time.....

Good luck in the "Fish Bowl"

It has been brought to my attention that some of us don't have a Facebook account....imagine that...LOL!!!! So to make this fair to all my followers I wanted to set up a step for them to be able to get their name in the fish bowl too. So here it is: Simply email some of your friends...put the link to my blog in the email so they can find me and send that email to me so that I know you did it. Now, everyone is covered and will have a chance to enter the fish bowl.

Thank you for reading and posting comments. I'm so excited about this giveaway. I think I'm even going to let the winner decide which weebie they would like. Soooo here are some photos of the ones they can pick from.....will that someone be YOU!!!!!

Good luck to all and until next time....
