Santa and the Velveteen Rabbit

Sitting under glass on the top of a shelf, Rose has been waiting for what seems like a 100 years. She has been yearning for a little girl to send Santa a letter requesting a special stuffed bunny to have for her own. Rose wasn't just any stuffed bunny, no sirrie, she was known in the toy shop as the Velveteen Rabbit. A beautiful bunny dressed in a velveteen dress with a hair clip of roses to match. During all the years of sitting and waiting Rose made a friend who was loyal and true. This little friend was a bear named Ted. Yes...Ted E Bear...a silly little clown of a bear. Ted told Santa that he would wait patiently with Rose until her day came to fulfill the wishes of that special little girl because he just couldn't stand knowing Rose was all alone sitting on the top of the shelf.

Rose was very surprised when Santa himself came and took her down off the shelf. Ted E was so happy for her as tears of joy and sadness came flowing down. He was happy that she finally was going to get her own lil child but sad that he would remain behind. All of sudden Ted E looked and there were Santa's hands pulling him down off the shelf. Ted E, who was just as surprised for he knew what was fixing to come true. Rose's wish of that special letter had come to the shop and letter from a little boy asking for a silly old bear. How exciting and what a surprise that they would be going to a sister and brother. Santa let out a roar of laughter and told the two little toys that they would be riding in the sleigh with him this year. Now Santa knew it had been quiet awhile for Rose wishing to be given to a child and so she and Ted E were going to get to ride in the front and carry a big bright balloon and see all the world Christmas Eve night.

Santa and the Velveteen Rabbit is the latest design in my Santa series for 2012. Santa's head, hands and feet were hand sculpted out of clay (no molds used...ever) then baked and detailed using acrylic paints. His body  is a wire armature covered in wool yarn. His has a felt vest underneath his cloak (which is not removable) and his boots were made from felt. His hair and beard were made from angora wool yarn. His costume was hand sewn using vintage material and detailed with golden braided string. In his left hand, he is holding a tiny plush bear who is wearing a multicolored ribbon collar. A tiny "The Night Before Christmas" book is hanging from his wrist. It is a real book that has the original story in it. In his right hand, he is holding the rope to his famous never empty toy sack. Peeking out the top are some miniature toys. Santa is sitting in a vintage sleigh found on one of our treasure hunts. Of course, Rose and Ted E are proudly sitting in the front holding their glass balloons that have been covered on German glass. Some tiny wrapped packages are sitting in the front as well. No need to try and unwrap them...they are just for display purposes..hehe!!

Rose and Ted E.

Tiny toys peeking out of bag

Back view of sleigh

This piece sits right at 11 inches tall. Santa and everything in the sleigh is permanently attached. The storybook can be removed from his wrist if you do it very carefully. I'm sure that someone will enjoy reading it on Christmas eve.

Now...it's time to move on to the next Santa piece that is calling my name....or is that my muse....sometimes I just can't tell!!

Until next time...........Hugs,

I made my own gift box..hehe

I hope that you read about how to make your own box in my last post. I also hope that they were easy to follow directions so that you could make some of your own. I enjoyed making the "How to" post so much for everyone that I made some more boxes...ten to be exact....LOL!!!  These were made for a purpose. Do you remember the flower garden I have been cultivating here of late? You know the one....don't you? The one that took up a weekend plus. Need a reminder? Just Click Here.   I made the boxes to hold these precious flowers plus I made three more flowers to add to the bunch.

I do hope that the little girls that receive them Christmas morning will love them just as much as I loved growing making them. I just love the fact that so many people are coming together to make Christmas a special time for the families that need the extra help. I'm very excited to be one that is able to use my whimsical talents to help out. Paying it forward is a motto that all of us should take to heart. I know that I certainly do. Let's take a walk and see the newest flowers clipped from the garden.

I love using fabric and ribbon. This little beauty of a rose was made from a wired satin ribbon and has cotton fabric leaves. Not only do I love using fabric and ribbon but I really love buttons. The prettier the better!!! On this one I was able to use two buttons. The white one looked like the center of a flower. How perfect...ri iight??  I just couldn't resist using this little butterfly button to go along with it. It's attached to a large clip barrette.

Here is another rose from the same bush. No thorns either...that makes it nice. We don't want any ouchies from our sweet little ladies.....now do we? I used one of my flower buttons for the center of this one and instead of a hair clip...I attached it to an elastic headband. Can't you just see a sweet baby girl wearing this?
Sit and imagine....now let's all say...........Awwwwww!!!

This little beauty is from the whimsical side of the garden. I had these fantastic, colorful fabric scraps that a friend gave to me in a big bag of.......scraps!! HAHA  They were just the perfect size to make these with. So important tip here.....never throw out those scraps you might think are to small to be keeping. I just adore all the colors in this one too. What do you think of when you see the colors? I think of ice cream..... Neapolitan ice cream and a scoop or two of sherbet thrown in with perhaps some peppermint. YUM!! I suddenly am in the mood for ice cream. ^_^   Hmmmmm...wonder why? Instead of raiding my button stash for these...I raided my vintage bead stash. Tiny, pretty pink pearls. The leaves surrounding the flowers are made from a ribbon. This one has a hair clip attached to it.

Now I have ten beautiful flowers in all to give away but I just couldn't hand them over to Ms Sue and say "Here ya go". I wanted them to be extra special so that's why I made the boxes. The box liked we talked about at the beginning of this post....the box that this post is suppose to be about. Sorry...I just had to wonder in the garden BUT at least I took you with me and you got to smell see the pretty flowers. For the boxes, I used white card stock......because I know that the box probably won't survive the opening process. I mean if they were big boxes...then they would be "priceless" but these are small boxes. I hope they do survive though because they are really cute and could actually be another gift in itself. For the top of the box, I found this cute vintage page from a children's book with rabbits....I love rabbits....don't you? Rabbits looking out the window at Santa and his reindeer flying over the snowy sky. I printed it off in black and white and then water colored it in to give it that vintage look for real. I applied a tiny bit of sparkle flakes to the rabbit tail....some red glitter by some of the holly leaves and even a teeny tiny piece of red glitter on the nose of the first reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh. RUDOLPH!!! Well....either Rudolph or the reindeer had one heck of a party the night before....but....that's....another......whole post entirely!!

Until next time.............HUGS, Regi

Little Bunny FooFoo

I have been watching a few fellow artist that make clay sculpts and then add flocking to them. They look so darn cute. I have flocked a few times in the past and really enjoyed it but "Man Oh Man"  had I ever forgotten just why it has been such a long time since I have done it. It has nothing to do with the fact that it is time consuming. I have tons of patience...so that wasn't the problem. I don't mind taking the time to cut up the yarn I use to flock with. Nooooo....the problem was I forgot just how much trouble I get myself into when I have glue on my fingers and tiny pieces of yarn. OMGOSH...what a sight. Really!!! It got so sticky in the studio that I just started laughing. Everything I touched ended up with tiny pieces of yarn on it. My hair may never be the same again.

I have got to practice with doing it again because it is something that truly can't be rushed to make the lil critters look right. So with no laughing on your end (and yes I can hear you...no, really I can) and no, I am not showing photos of a sticky me either...LOL...here is my lil flocked critter. Little Bunny FooFoo!!!
All of FooFoo is flocked with the exception of his big bunny ears. Those are wire with yarn wrapped around them. (like I do with my dust bunnies...gives them more strength and makes them bendable) For not having done this in awhile I think he turned out pretty darn cute. Ri iight??

I may attempt a few more....a cat....a dog....or even perhaps a llama (I do have some real llama hair that I have been wanting to use.) I want to do a few larger pieces and flock or apply hair/fur to them to use with my Santa or Faerie characters. Lots more practice though....LOTS MORE!!!  I even thought about doing a tutorial...if anyone would be interested. I promise to keep the sticky fingers at a minimum.

Until next time.....HUGS,
Regi

I hear that song again...."I ain't got no body"

I love bunnies and rabbits and all things that hop along....yeah...even those lil frogs. HEY..I'm the mom of a very much so little boy!!!  Thank goodness he hasn't come in with one in his pocket yet but then that would be a completely different story than the one I'm telling...well for today that is. ^_^

I had a friend request that I do one of my dust bunnies but to only do the head and to make it so it could be worn on a chain. I love making my dust bunnies so I just couldn't resist making one that was just a head. I think he turned out rather cute and will probably be making a few more to put in my shoppe. Let me know what you think....

Of course, being the whimsical artist that I am, I just had to make it a bit bigger than most necklace pieces. I think anyone wanting to wear a whimsy should have it big enough to be seen and receive that "Ohhh..it's so cute" reaction. Just sayin!!!!! His ears can be gently bent into several different positions so that makes it even more fun...well..to me it does...but then I'm a complete whimsy myself.

Time to HOP along and work on some more bunnies. Ohhhh I made a funny....hop....bunnies...get it....Yeah, yeah...I am easily entertained. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.....until next time,

Hugs...Regi

Tsk..tsk..I missed Wednesday WIP!!!

Well....alrightie then....as always I'm a day late because I forgot to mark my calendar off!!! I have been thinking all morning that it was Wednesday. Yeah...yeah...yeah....my life rotates around my calendar and all my lil notes. If I don't post it then my brain won't remember it and even then if I don't mark each day off then I won't see the post it and therefore whatever I needed to do doesn't get done. How sad...ri iight? BUT it sure does make life interesting. ^_^

Since I missed Wednesday and doing a WIP post then I'm just going to pretend that this is Wednesday and do one now. My muse apparently had taken a vacation while I have been under the weather but she is slowly getting back to whispering in my ear. Here is what I have been up to...well...since yesterday.
I know the lil guy and the head look funny and why you may be asking. Can you tell me why?? They are missing their ears of course. I'm making their ears out of the fluffy yarn I make my dust bunnies with. The lil guy is going to be attached to a pin but can be removed and worn on a chain or a pretty ribbon. The head poor dear...I bet he is sitting there thinking "I AINT GOT NO BODY" hehehe...is going to be one of the dust bunny heads that can be attached to a chain or a pretty ribbon. I'm sure you have figured out the two items on the left are carrots and the three items on the right are going to be some of my German glass colored Easter eggs. It's good to be back sculpting!!!

Until next time.................HUGS, Regi

P.S.  We are still having "ISSUES" with this dang computer but are working on it...hummmm...did I do a post it for that? ^_^

Back to normal...well..as normal as I can be ^_^

Ahhhhh....it's a New Year!! Want me to tell your future? Do you really want to know? Nahhhh....I can't really tell you and I'm sure you really don't want to know. To me.....that's part of the amazing part of our life's adventures...the not knowing. Where would the fun or the adventure be if we knew...hehe. I'm just happy that with the holidays coming to a close that my adventures can get back to a bit of normalcy...well...as normal as my world can be. ^_^

The Chazman and I have been sitting and doodling some with his cousins in mind. He loves to be a part of my designs and when that can happen...I LOVE it. So blessed that my lil guy has a tiny muse sitting on his shoulder too. I still have to make gifts for the ones that we won't get to see until sometime later in the year...they wanted us to bring them to them so we could see them open them. Just have to love a loving family filled with kiddos. Chaz thought that his boy cousins would love some monsters to play with...so monsters it is. (He knew that was what I was planning but it's so soo AWESOME that he sat and drew out a pattern for me to follow) He drew the bodies and I added the faces. They will be made with crazy fabrics or faux fur or felt or perhaps a bit of it all.
The first one is a monster that will have twisted ears (Chaz wasn't sure how to draw them so he told me..hehe) and a furry tongue sticking out. The second top one is a Bearster...yep...that's a monster and bear combined. He will have long arms so he can give great big bear hugs. My Chazman is sooo cute!! Of course, he said that there needed to be a "crazy" dust bunny. I'm thinking of making him with a dry corn bottom and then making a few cotton bags (or carrots....HEY...even a monster dust bunny has to eat) to go with him so he can play. Then there is the Batty monster...need I say more. The last lil monster is a fire monster....a real HOT HEAD for sure. I think with this great assortment of monsters....there will be some happy cousins.

Until next time....HUGS, Regi (and the Chazman)

White Rabbit from Alice...

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

by

Lewis Carroll

CHAPTER I

DOWN THE RABBIT-HOLE

"There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself "Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!" (when she thought it over afterwards it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but, when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge."  Read more.

The above is of course a paragraph from the original story written by Lewis Carroll. When you have the time you should follow the "Read more" link and rediscover this wonderful tale...just make sure you don't drink or eat anything found along the way. ^_^   The first whimsical character that Alice discovers is the White Rabbit. He of course doesn't bother to take the time to introduce himself for he has other matters on his mind and doesn't even seem to notice Alice. Alice does see him though and so begins her journey.....

This is Southern Ooaks version of the white rabbit. I have always loved the tale of Alice and all the amazing characters she meets on her wonderous journey down the rabbit hole. Rabbit in my mind was a stately fellow. Sharp dressed Englishman rabbit in his fine woolen coat...leather vest and beautiful gold pocket watch.

Rabbit being the perfect Englishman carries his umbrella faithfully with him wherever he goes. Of course he might lay it down for a spot of tea or a bite of carrot cake.
His woolen coat is hand sewn from a vintage piece of fabric. His buttons are vintage pearls. His vest is made from an embossed piece of brown leather and has a tiny vintage burgandy glass bead as the button. His pocket watch is a real time piece that has stopped at preciously 6:15. Do you think he is late for the Tea Party? Mad Hatter and March Hare would surely have a fit if he showed up late.

Rabbit stands at 8 1/2 inches tall...he does tend to be a bit shorter when he puts his ears down to duck under the brush.  He has a strong wire armature that is covered in wool white yarn and then in a faux white fur. His face and paws are sculpted with clay...baked and then detailed using acrylic paints. His eyes are bone beads that have been hand painted and sealed.

Rabbit will be joining the Mad Hatter and March Hare at the Art & Soul Gallery.
(once you click on Art & Soul you will be taken to the Country Village site...simply click on shop then Art & Soul)
I am very excited about this series of ooaks being in such a wonderful gallery. I know that they will whisper to someone to take them home.

As always, thank you for dropping in to see what's been going on in my whimsical world. I hop hope that you will come again real soon.

Until next time....

Hugs,
Regi

The Tea Party has Begun...

Do you think that in 1865, English Author, Lewis Carroll had any notion that a novel he wrote based on some of his friends, companions and places during his time would still be read by children and loved by adults over 145 years later? Such a classic, I don't think, has ever been written and still adored by so many. Don't know the classic I'm speaking of........it's about a young woman that falls down a rabbit hole to find a world beyond what anyone could have ever imagined. Her name was ALICE!!!!

I have always loved this story and all the amazing characters it brought to life for me. I decided that I wanted to bring some of those characters to you in some of my ooaks. I have a love for rabbits. So my muse decided that is where I should start.  Some might be guessing that it is the little white rabbit that runs around, poor dear, always saying to himself "I'm late...I'm late" but my favorite rabbit of the story is the March Hare from the Mad Hatter's Tea Party chapter. Such personality....so charming and yet so stuffy at the same time. To let you read just how his personality was, here is a short portion taken from the Mad Hatter's Tea Party:

"There was a table set out under a tree in front of the house, and the March Hare and the Hatter were having tea at it: a Dormouse was sitting between them, fast asleep, and the other two were using it as a cushion, resting their elbows on it, and the talking over its head. `Very uncomfortable for the Dormouse,' thought Alice; `only, as it's asleep, I suppose it doesn't mind.'
The table was a large one, but the three were all crowded together at one corner of it: `No room! No room!' they cried out when they saw Alice coming. `There's plenty of room!' said Alice indignantly, and she sat down in a large arm-chair at one end of the table.
`Have some wine,' the March Hare said in an encouraging tone.
Alice looked all round the table, but there was nothing on it but tea. `I don't see any wine,' she remarked.
`There isn't any,' said the March Hare.
`Then it wasn't very civil of you to offer it,' said Alice angrily.
`It wasn't very civil of you to sit down without being invited,' said the March Hare."

Without any further hesitation here is Southern Ooaks version of the March Hare.........................

March Hare is a very distinguished fellow. With his Velveteen jacket....silk vest and fancy bow tie. MH stands at 7 1/2 inches tall and can stand on his own. He is one of my gently poseable ooaks. He has a strong wire armature covered in linen colored eyelash yarn. His head and paws are hand sculpted from clay, baked and then washed with an acrylic paint to give him that old porcelain look. His eyes are black bone beads.  His outfit is completely hand sewn. His bow tie is a vintage pearl drop and rhinestone earring clipped to a celery colored silk ribbon.  His lettuce head cup and saucer were sculpted from clay and then rubbed in acrylic paints.

He comes with a antique Colclough English made Bone China cup and saucer. A lovely sweet pea pattern with purple and green hues. The edges on both the cup and saucer are slightly scalloped and rimmed in gold.
March Hare is being so kind as to bring you a cup and saucer of your own to enjoy the Tea Party but be quick for his mischievous side will take over and your cup will end up as his seat!!!!

I am very excited by the fact that I have been contacted by Susan Yaranon, curator for the Art and Soul Gallery located in Bothell, Washington. They want to display and promote my whimsical characters. March Hare is one of many that will be making the journey to this awesome gallery. It's located in The Country Village and looks like an amazing place where my ooaks will be right at home. Well, that is until someone wants to actually take them home with them. Go take a peek at her gallery....click on the Country Village in green above and then click shops and then click Art & Soul gallery link. I'm so excited!!!

Until next time....

Wabbits, Wabbits everywhere..

All my friends that have been reading my blog since the first of the year know about my New Year's Resolutions. Yes, yes I know...everyone hates to make them because we always and I do mean ALWAYS seem to break them. Well, out of, let's just say several, I have managed to keep one. The resolution to have Holiday ooaks completed BEFORE the actual Holiday it goes with and not during or after!!! Here are some of the rabbits (or wabbits as Chazman would sound like he was saying) that I have designed for the Easter Holiday. To see more photos of these adorable, if I must say so, rabbits just go sit under the old ooak tree at my shoppe and look to see what can be found. Visit often as new pieces are being added on a regular basis.

This first little one is from my weebie collection. (small, usually under 4 inches tall or short I should say) They can be desk sitters (a gift you give someone or yourself to keep on a desk to remind you just how special you or the someone you give it to is), keepsakes (special gifts that mark an event...favorite team mascot) or an ornament(Christmas time or any Holiday time that you decorate with a tree...HEY...you can do a tree for almost any Holiday and if you see one of my weebies that you would like to have as an ornament just let me know so I can make yours with a tiny hanger)

This lil wabbit is a Dust Bunny. He is only 3 1/2 inches tall. Clay head and paws..wire armature body wrapped in dust..no no just kidding...it's just fuzzy fabric to look like dust. His wings are made from two types of paper. The back of them for added strength is made from cardstock that has a printed old book page and the front of the wing is a real vintage piece of paper from some old book pages that I won during the OWOH event from a very whimsical and entertaining friend, J Ingle, better known as Jingle from Just Jingle. (you should really go check out her blog..she will have you smiling and giggling) DB is holding a tiny sign that reads "Some Bunny Loves you". Nice thing about signs is that you can change them...so keep that in mind of you would like to order one and have a different saying. Just please keep in mind...tiny weebie meanes tiny weebie sign..LOL!!!

This next wabbit is one of my Bulbz characters that reside in the Resyculbinz township. Not familiar with the place, well, all the characters that reside there have bodies made of used light bulbs. Yes, ya read that right.
I love to find ways to reuse items...what better way to use a light bulb!!! This Victorian Beauty has a face and paws made from clay and a body made from a strong wire armature. He is then covered in vintage fur...oh it's just faux fur...from a poor teddy that had seen it's better days. His collar is made from a silk ribbon. His egg is of course an Easter egg. I put a light covering of vintage MICA flakes on him...I think it adds to the old world look. He stands up all on his own and you can gently pose his legs so he can sit down. Well, wouldn't you get tired of standing holding a great big Easter egg for to long? When standing from top of head to feet he is 5 1/2 inches but add those great big bunny ears and he stands at 7 1/2 inches tall.

This beauty is one of my Holiday ooaks. She has a clay face and paws....strong wire armature covered in a faux fur fabric. She has been washed with an acrylic paint to give her that old look. She is holding a pair of tiny Easter eggs covered in german glass and strung with tiny rose colored crystals. Her collar is a silk ribbon adorned with tiny silk ribbon roses. She stands from tip of head to feet at 4 1/2 inches but with those big bunny ears she is 6 1/2 inches tall. She too can also be made to sit...but gently!!!
I hope you enjoyed looking at my newest designs...now HOP on along and have a wonderful afternoon.

Until next time...

Regi

Topper the hopper is complete!!

Such a handsome gentleman Topper turned out to be. Wearing his finest Steampunk hat...tiny rosebuds on the back brim. It's a special hat made just for Topper...has tiny cutouts so it fits snuggly up against his big old floppy ears. Which I'm sure you have noticed that they aren't flopping at all this moment because he is strutting strolling down Valentine Lane to take his Honey Bunny a gift.

Topper stands at 6 1/2 inches tall. He is hand sculpted from Super Sculpey clay without the use of any molds. He has a strong wire and light bulb armature underneath. Yes...you read that right...a light bulb. Topper is one of my characters from the town of Resyculbinz. Any townsfolk from there has a used light bulb for a body. My way of keeping our earth cleaner. I have such a "hopping" good time using them. OMGOSH, sorry about that...I just couldn't resist. (giggle giggle) He is hand rubbed with acrylic paints to give him a ceramic look and then sealed with varnish. His collar is made from a white ribbon with a tiny bow tie adorned with a sterling silver bead cap and tiny crystal bead. His Steampunk hat is made from clay and hand rubbed as well. A coating of fine Mica flakes covers the hat. He is holding a pair of sterling silver hearts and is walking down Valentine Lane. Valentine Lane is a wooden heart that I painted with several layers of acrylics and then rubbed them to give it that aged look. Tiny white dots line the Lane.

I hope you enjoyed Topper...he is such a gentleman!!! If you would like to purchase Topper please just drop me a comment with your addy and I will get back with you. Until next time.....

It's starting to look like a Wabbit..

What a wascally wooking wabbit...oops, I mean what a rascally looking rabbit. Sorry about that speech impediment there, I tend to take on my characters when I'm designing and sculpting. Warner Brothers came to mind..LOL!!

I think that this one could be for Valentines and hop right on over to Easter. He is turning out to be quite the "Honey Bunny" don't ya think? He is going to be holding the tiny sterling silver heart laying beside him in the photo. It is actually two tiny hearts together. I'm trying to decide if I want him wearing a hat of some sort. It seems the proper rabbit would be wearing a hat when he came to call. My muse is whispering, so we will see.

He is standing on a wooden heart that will be hand rubbed for an aged look. He even has a tiny fluffy bunny tail. The mark next to him is my signature I put on all my ooaks. (celtic marking) Most the time it is hidden but I decided that this year it would be put some where it could be seen. Hopefully it won't always be on the ooaks hiney..hehe!!

Well, back to work..umm play..ohhh it's great to have a job where you are working and playing at the same time. Thank you for stopping by...please come again and until then....

Hugs,
Regi

Sticking to my New Year's Resolution!!!

What a wonderful Christmas we had here at the old homestead. I love all the holidays...the decorating..the baking...the visiting with family but when it's over..well..it's over!!! I keep my decorations up for a bit afterwards because the Chazman loves them so much. He would keep them up all year long....not just Christmas ones but for all the holidays...wouldn't that be an interesting decorating theme? They will stay alittle longer than I want this year seeing how the week before Christmas Uncle Fluenza came to visit me and I still can't seem to kick him out the door. Don't you just hate when some relatives come to visit and they just don't know when to leave? Took me years to get Auntie Flo to stop dropping by...hehe!!  Now...what were we talking about...oh yes...the decorations. Hubby will be home onThursday/Friday so guess what's on his "HoneyDo" List for Thursday? Yep...for the first time in our marriage he is going to help put everything away.
He of course might decide that Chaz has a wonderful idea...just leave them up all year long. I don't think so Mister!!!! My Grandmother would come back to haunt me if I did that. She always told me that you should always...always take down the Christmas decorations before the New Year starts. If I didn't then the old year would follow me into the new year. Yes..yes..it might just be one of those old Southern sayings but being the true Grits that I am, I really don't want to take the chance!!  (Grits=girl raised in the South)

If you follow my post then you know that I have already made one of my New Year's Resolutions.  (I hear that laughing sound again...hehe) It was not to wait until the last minute or when a holiday was upon us to start designing and sculpting for that particular holiday. So today, I am working in my studio on my rabbits, faeries and Easter things. Yes, I know that Valentine's comes first and I do have a few ooaks planned for it but Easter is really being "bounced" all around inside my head. Git it? Bounced...as in what rabbits do..bounce around!! OK....I think I need to get busy.

Thank you for stopping by to visit. Please come again soon and a comment of your visit would be wonderful. I truly do love reading my comments. Until the next time.....

Hugs,
Regi

Flop is here....

Flop is here and ready to be loved. Big baby blues...soft brown and tan fur. She even has her own carrot to help Autumn keep her fed.  Autumn is our great niece and this is her Christmas gift. She is still toddling around herself so I think that Flop will be in loving care.

Flop is one of my felted characters. For added strength, since she will be being taken care of by a toddler, her body is made from felted material. Her mouth/nose and fur patches are hand needle felted as well as her lil bunny tail. Her eyes are hand embroidered with tiny eyelids felted above them. Her carrot is made from felt material as well and attached to her arm so as not to get lost when feeding time comes around.

I think that Autumn will have fun playing with Flop. A baby bunny to take care of all by herself. I think every little girl loves to play mommie.

Thank you for stopping by. Now it's on to making some needle felted finger puppets....until next time.

Hugs,
Regi
