What a fantastic weekend...especially for the Chazman. Tallassee is a small community but there is nothing small about the wonderful folks that live here. On Friday night, two of the churches, First United Methodist and First Baptist each put on a fantastic fall festival. Such a great way for the children to have fun and the parents to know that it's a safe enviroment. On Saturday, Suzanne's Photography Studio was taking 4x6 photos of our lil ghost and goblins. She does something special each year to help out the community and this year the cost of the photo was a $1 donation to our public library fund. I will post Chaz's photo as soon as it arrives. It seems during our entire weekend I could not keep my camera batteries charged. Think we had someone or something following us? Also on Saturday, our little community church, East Tallassee Baptist had a fun filled fall festival with games, a cake walk and hots dogs, chips and good ole sweet tea. I think we had just as much fun as Chaz did....I know that Daddy did, walking around and around the cake walk. ;)
I want to thank everyone that made this weekend such a fun filled time for our children. With all the things that are happening around us, it's such a blessing to know that we live in such a family oriented community.
Even with all the BOOtacular events this past weekend I still had some time to work in my studio. Santa's head got sculpted and baked. Both Santa and Mrs. Claus faces were painted. My characters always look so comical until I get them finished. I think that's one reason I feel so blessed to be an artist. I always have such jolly, comical characters hanging about. Helps to keep a smile on my face and happy thoughts in my heart.
Can you tell by Santa's smile that he is over joyed that Mrs. Claus baked a pumpkin pie?
Pumpkin pie....Mrs. Claus's hands and her well worn, most comfy, leather boots. They aren't really leather but I love doing the special paint technique that gives them that look.
I'm one that as soon as the Holiday is over I'm ready to put all the decorations away. Well, that's not completely the truth. If I could, I would leave my Christmas tree up all year long. Hummmm, maybe I could and just decorate it for each special occassion. Nawwww....hubby might get a bit upset over that one!!!! Chaz and I decorated for Fall/Thanksgiving and of course lil man wants a few more decorations added this year. I am a Bear collector and have a good assortment. Chaz picked one out that he wants me to decorate as an Indian. I started on his headdress last night. I think it turned out rather well.
Today I'm working on finishing lil Running Bear's outfit and then I have to, of course, make a Pilgim outfit for another Bear. It's Thanksgiving time so we have to have both to celebrate. I love having a child that has the same "gift" of seeing things in a different light.
Hugs,
Regi
